Which of the following best describes your Fallout gaming history pre-Fallout 4?
I only played 3 and NV, I have 1,2 and Tactics on GOG maybe its time i play them.

I'm pretty sure that was Chris Avellone's writing; He has a wicked sense of humor.

I've never played any of Fallout series. Fallout 4 looks great, but i'm sure i will not get it - price is too high imo.

Exactly. I loved FO3, though sometimes it was... silly. Then I played the first two and realized that Fallout 3 is a fine shooter with some RPG elements, but a really weak game in the series. Then NV blown me away with it's quests, world and lore :) (This was what I loved in the originals and missed in the third)

I got Fallout (1) when it came out (yes, I'm old) because I love RPGs and I really like post-apocalyptic scenarios. The game started and had that cool, weird intro, but it also gave me a time limit... ah well, let's see how the game starts. You are in a dark cave. There are rats. Lots of them. You kill rats. Lots of them. You exit the cave and travel to the next location. There are more rats. Stopped playing and thought that I'll eventually get back to the game.
Ten years later Bethesda announces that they'll create Fallout 3. I remember my previous experience with the series and the rather 'meh' one from Oblivion. There is a teaser a bit later. I'm hooked. I get the game. Liam Neeson is my dad and get to create my character from its infancy. When I finally leave the Vault I see a world in ruins. An open-world post-apocalyptic game. I'm in love.
When people say that Fallout 3 isn't like the first two games I just sit there, smile and nod :)

If we say No, do we get free copies?! :D
Lol... in more seriousness. Have played 3&NV, including DLC's, but that was a long time ago ... Downloaded. Haven't touched "alternative sources", shall we say, for games other than visual novels, for well over a year now, if not two. Though some novels are only available that way.
Has been just as long since playing any of the fallouts. Would definitely like to get copies on steam one day, but would prefer getting the DLC's included >.< I want Christine's Sniper Rifle in New Vegas. OP as hell if used properly, notably abusing height and other obstacles. lol, still remember jumping on top of some crane in a quarry? To kill off some deathclaw mother boss or something. For more general purpose, height+crouching to avoid most hits.
I did play Fallout (1) once, but really couldn't get into it. Spent hours just trying to get through the first level on so-called easy. Must have been saving every couple steps.

I'm really big fan, I played and finished them all (1, 2, Tactics, 3, NV). And I think that (except the Tactics) they were evolving into better games. A bit Fallout 3 hiccup swapped to more immersion styled gameplay and atmosphere. It was great step to jump on better toolbox that can make Fallout world so much better (Fallout NV showed it to us, Felicia Day ftw). Every year Bethesda, as developer, takes much more mature approach in developing their games. For anyone who is thinking that Bethesda is dumbing down their games to appeal casual gamers: I don't think that is the case
For fans of the fallout radio stations, here is real Fallout-like radio from big band era. You can listen to while waiting for F4 or use it after you have enough of F4's default radio stations (or during any Fallout gameplay for that matter).
One note, I'm really sad about someone who just skips right to Fallout 4, since there is a ton of fun in previous titles and there is small to none chance that if the person starts playing F4, they will never play any previous titles in future. So for sake of the great story and many great moments, try to play at least Fallout 3 and New Vegas (modded or unmodded, your choice) before playing F4. If you like first person action RPGs, you'll have a blast.

I've only played Fallout 1 and 2, despite owning 3 and New Vegas multiple times over. Got Fallout 4 just to complete the collection, and even gave a copy away to my friendslist a few days ago.
I am WAAAAY more excited for Xenoblade Chronicles X on Dec. 4th than Fallout 4 in 2 days.

I am not counting the Brotherhood of Steel game or Fallout Tactics in this poll as the first was an abortion of a game and the latter is not an RPG, but a tactical strategy, combat game. I am also not counting Fallout Shelter nor am I technically counting FO4 yet as it officially launches tomorrow evening. I understand some press people have already played it, but this is more about your history with the Fallout gaming series.
Also, obligatory code for my FO:NV contest ql8pC
Edit: I am amazed at how many of you have never played a single game from the main Fallout series (44%)!
