"Saw a Ghost "Commented on the 2012 Halloween hidden giveaway." - This badge can no longer be obtained."

bummer for me, that was during the super storm sandy, and I live in NY and got hit really hard and lost a lot. Also lost power for 13 days, and missed out on the whole sale! Very awesome steamgifts script! Lots of great stuff all in one!

"Add to Filter" links on the main page might be broken. They look like this in the source: "<a id="sgpAddToFilter" href="">Add to Filter</a>" for me (Firefox). Also not seeing the comment editor enhancements (except Live Preview) when making a reply (making a new topic still has them, as does making an edit to a reply -- can't recall if that's just the way it was before or not).

[edit] checked 0.9.0 source and 0.9.1 source and "Add to Filter" is definitely different -- looks like a very easy fix though :) [/edit]

not working for me either in firefox. also the add to filter button under filter settings > game filters just reloads the page, so i can't filter anything.

Well I've opened this topic several times and still it doesn't track it from scratch... :(
When I'm inside the topic though, I can see the new posts. It's the forum index tracking that doesn't work...

Question. Why do some giveaways appear in a green box? Are these marked that way because I've entered previous giveaways for them?

Anyways, awesome app and kudos to making it for us. :)

Green marked are your games from wishlist

Control Panel > Giveaway Preferences > Highlight Wishlist Giveaways

Suggestion: Create a "latest" tag at subversion and always put the last revision of the JS there, so we can have a really automatic update transparent to the user (instead of having to create a new "installer" every time you got a new release pointing at the new tag) :)

The suggestion was because updating Opera has to be done manually, replacing the js on the designed directory everytime.

I know that /trunk has always the lastest js... but the version in trunk may be not stable or a bug-free version as it's where all the inter-version commits goes.

Your wonderful script is only partially compatible with one of my other favorite scripts, which is called "Enter to Win! Steamgifts". It only works on the first page of giveaway listings but is broken after that. Seems like an easy fix. I would appreciate it very much if you included that script or allowed your script to work with it. Thanks again for your wonderful script.

It's always worked with SGE's endless scrolling.
Also, you're not interested in adding the functionality to your script?

Oh, I understand the reasoning now. Personally, I like to enter each thing I want to enter, then go back through the list of giveaways I've entered to leave comments. It's more efficient.

Dunno if this was mentioned before, but having "Show wishlist only" activated seems to break the loading of additional pages. (@ 0.9.1-BETA)

EDIT: Also, in the game filters view the bottom scroll bar seems out of place (somewhat below the border of the box).
EDIT 2: The stopping to load thing seems to only be the case if you didn't scroll down at all in the first place (which is the case for the wishlist thing, as for the most people there would not be many giveaways available). I don't know how you implemented the check when to load a new page, but it would be great if it would work when you can see the end of the last page known.

Found a bug :P

there seems to be a small bug with multiple prizes. Here is an example

Hearts of Iron 3 Collection (2 Copies) Open for another 1 day 35 (entries) 5.71% (win chance)
Indie Gala 6 (9 Games) (2 Copies) Open for another 2 days 49 (entries) 100% (chance of win)

Suggestion: Ability to hide DLC giveaways for games I don't own.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

This was already suggested multiple times at multiple occasions. The problem is with Steam as you cannot detect if something is a DLC or not.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But it is possible to hide giveaways with DLCs which are for games you don't own, right? On the same idea, as you can't join those giveaways because of "Missing the base game".

Hm, the "missing the base game" thing is a good point and I have no idea how cg identifies those DLCs. But I know there are DLCs you can enter giveaways for, there is at least SOMETHING that breaks the logic at some point. And this would then be best implemented by cg, as Kaitlyn had to load every giveaway page before knowing if there's the "missing the base game" hint.

EDIT: And Kaitlyn beat me to it. <3

Ouch. But then OK, that's a way to do it. And if he has that (somewhat incomplete, but nonetheless) information, he could add it relatively easily to the delivered source, so e.g. you can use it.

For everyone who wants easy install and update in Chrome:

  1. Open Notepad, insert this text
  2. Close Chrome
  3. Save the file as "something.reg" and run it.
  4. Open Chrome

Update and install without drag/drop or modifying shortcuts should now work without problems.

But wouldnt "<*>" be better than <all_urls>?

<all_urls> is for literally any url on supported protocols (http, https, ftp, file) while <*> doesn't exist.

I think I just found another bug: When I edit one of my comments, I get "Live Preview" and "Parse Line Breaks" checkboxes. When writing a new comment (doesn't matter if replying to the thread or another person), those checkboxes are missing. Is this intentional?

Limiting by entries means that it hides giveaways with higher entry amount than you wrote in form. But I cant believe it works the same for giveaways with 2+ copies. Maybe you should limit it to less than 100 entries per EACH copy of game in giveaway.
