Projection is going to be the next upgrade before tablet gaming goes anywhere

It is not a vs. topic. It's a comparison in performance topic. He wasn't asking which one was better, but which one had better specs and performance.

Don't start this, please... this kind of topic is an invite to all the PC/Console fanboys to come arguing, and it's rather ridiculous really. A high-end PC will always be more powerful than a console, that's a fact. It's more a matter of personal preference.
I myself like the variability of PC. You have mods, infinite chances to upgrade your rig and more. And consoles on the other hand, well, there must be something about them that people enjoy so much. If there wasn't, everyone would be playing on PCs, am I right? They are more affordable to mention one thing.

To me though, people misconceive the pricing of consoles. Yeah, the PS4 may be $400 (or whatever it is) for the console and one controller, but three more controllers (at least what I would need) is $150, PS PLUS costs $50 a year, games will always cost $20-60, so add another $150 for games. Add tax and you hit about $820. I sold my old laptop for $300 so my new laptop only cost me $820. Now how much cheaper are consoles?

exactly. People will spend over a grand on the next-gen systems, easy.

First of all let's stay in topic..everyone is arguing instead of answering to OP's post! GUYS GUYS CHILL!
@ mrneighneigh: Its specs are badass.i believe it will be ok with the next gen games for the next 2 years but because it's a laptop you might face some problems as for the upgrades.I mean it would be rather better if it was a desktop pc than laptop because computers always need a lil "upgrade" and it's easier to do that on desktops.Comparing it to ps4/xbox one .. its tech specs are fine so i believe all the games that will release this year will work perfectly on your lenovo :)

Haha someone who finally wasn't taking offense to the existence of this topic

@OP that laptop only has one 750M. Dual graphics here is the reference to 750M and HD4000.
Honestly that is not a very strong card. You are going to struggle at 1920 x 1080 even on low settings, more comprehensive benchmarks here

He said dual in th main post though? Now I am confused.

It has two 750M, and actually doesn't have any way to use the integrated graphics. I don't think it would run Skyrim on ultra without SLI. Plus I've already taken out the second graphics card and inspected it

you forgot wii U :P it's as useless as any other console. Still, it depends on what games you play.
My main reason to buy wii u: super smash brothers
My main reason to buy ps4 : kingdom hearts 3
My main reason to buy xbox: never, never ever.

This June, I purchased a Lenovo Y500 (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y500/?redir=y#customize) with dual 750M, 16 GB RAM, 16 GB SSD, i7 3rd gen, 1080P monitor, etc. I was wondering if you guys knew how this compares to the next gen consoles, in terms of graphics and CPU performance, and overall performance. Thanks in advance!
