Just because we knew about the bundle then, doesn't mean they had any intentions of launching at that time.

June 4th - First post in Steam Group announcing a contest to win the bundle.
July 19th - "We are happy to inform you that we're on the final line and we will launch our first bundle (The Welcome Bundle) in about 1 month."
August 20th - "Our site design and development almost finished and the testing phase has been started. After testing it and adding some small extra features, we will immediately launch the "Welcome" bundle."
September 11th - "We are about to finish tests and will launch it really soon."

August 19th would be the earliest anyone should have assumed it launching. The fact they want to do thorough testing is totally fine with me. I think they're just covering their asses and triple checking everything. It'd be a shame if they launched and went down shortly after or had complications with keys. We don't want another BIAB incident nor do they want their bundle to be exploited and ultimately lose money like StackSocial.

I'm not trying to come over as impatient. All I wanted to say is don't get your hopes up yet. And indeed it's better to not launch too soon. Aside from BIAB, I recall the first Groupees Be Mine and the Little Big Bunch that didn't prepare so well.

Of course! I wasn't trying to come off as "You're wrong dumbass!" although I probably did. I was more so curious about how long it had actually been and when they had said what. It has seemed like quite a while, but I just couldn't imagine them actually stating "It's coming soon!" back in June.
