love them?
nope. the $10 cut is allready on the pricetag in the store. Also, since there is no shoppingcart, you can't add prices... You need to buy all games in a new order.

you see it already with the 10$ off. observation is 24$ on humble for example

They don't give you nothing for free, they only give you a $10 discount on games that are priced $14.99 or more... wrong info dude
Not going to give a single cent on Epic

Update "Giving $10 off on every game $15 and higher"

Depends on what games you like.
For me it was heavy rain and Beyond Two Souls because I don't own a Playstation.
Also Observation because I loved Stories Untold.
BUT all these games are "preorder".
Maybe Subnautica Below Zero or the final The Walking Dead game?!

Puedes precomprar Detroit Become Human a $9.99, pero parece que es precio para SA, navegando desde VPN USA sale a $29.99.

Some games that somewhat tempted me (prices in USD):
Beyond: Two Souls -- $10
Metro: Exodus -- $35
Outward -- $22
Dangerous Driving -- $20
Subnautica Below Zero -- $10
I almost pulled the trigger on Outward... but I decided that I'm still going to stay away from Epic for now.

Beyond Two Souls and Detroit become human has my attention

Heavy Rain (9,90€) and Detroit: Become Human (29,90€) has been included in the sale, remember these game has not been launched and you need to wait for the launch day to play.

Wow ! Now that's good regional pricing. I paid $9.9 while I see americans have to pay $30
Comment has been collapsed.
I just noticed you can change your Country freely, I wonder if you'll be able to buy normally to catch better prices. Just not sure if you're able to checkout normally, and run the game later normally as well.
Comment has been collapsed.
They show prices in USD for many countries, but there's still a variation on the base prices, so there's regional pricing even then.
For example, Borderlands 3 for you is currently U$ 21, on USA it's U$ 50.
Comment has been collapsed.
I didn't notice. That's good enough for me. Thanks for the info!

Can't change store once you've made your first purchase. Just confirming. I went and bought Detroit and now I see can't change my location. Still have legitimate location selected. Now sure how payment will work with wrong region
Comment has been collapsed.
That's quite the offer. i think I will buy Detroit then.
EDIT: Alright, bought Detroit and Beyond. Those are really nice prices. Especially things like Subnautica Below Zero, that cost only a good third of the original price now. This is the kind of competition I was hoping for with Epic vs. Steam. For the first time the customer actually benefits from the situation. Not bad, let's see what comes next. ;)
On the shop page I couldn't find any release date, but now that I bought it I can see this in my library - only two months:

Ok, so instead of just giving $10, it's actually a $10 discount on certain games.
Certain games being, games that are worth $19.99 and up. Basically, a discount on those games, you can't just get a game for free (other than Stories Untold rn, and the next one for the other week). You still have to pay. :/
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, but instead of giving you 10$ wallet for just one purchase, you get this discount for as many games you want to buy. I bought Detroit and Beyond and got 10€ off for both. Way better deal, if you ask me. Also, some games cost only 1/3 of the original price now. If I didn't have Subnautica Below Zero already, I would have bought it there. 6.79€ instead of 16.79€ for a pretty new game - won't get better than that any time soon.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wasn't better as the prospect of having a $10 credit you could buy for the whole store. Instead, it's a store-wide discount on select titles with a value >$15, which limits your ability to get a free game, and is not a percent-based discount. You only save $10 for whatever you bought.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're missing the point. Earlier, with the rumor about getting $10, it was implied that everyone gets $10 credit to their account. That would have made some extra free games possible. Later, when it was official, it was actually a $10 discount on certain games, but we didn't know that then.

Relented and bought World War Z for $20. If anyone wants to co-op, hit me up RagerReplacement

I bought Heavy Rain. Been waiting forever for it to come to pc. Funny, but all this time, I've felt the sting of the PS4 exclusives like Heavy Rain and Journey, Bloodborne, Uncharted... Am I getting those right?
And now some of them are coming to pc, and I am thrilled. Hard for me to hold a grudge against Epic at the moment.
Comment has been collapsed.
Really? :/ I mean, you get some discounts for pretty new games that you would never ever see on Steam. Not regular at all. It will take Steam a long, long time before you will see Subnautica Below Zero for 6.79€, or Walking Dead S4 for 5€.
Comment has been collapsed.
Agreed. Got 10€ discount each for Detroid and Beyond. For Beyond that means half price. That's not bad.

Well sure, but even a port is probably (hopefully) a big step up from the PS3 and maybe even the PS4 experience. I expect higher resolution and hope for higher frame rate and Ultrawide support.
Just a little story of how I experienced Beyond: I played it via PSNow, which is already worse video quality due to streaming. I believe it was also just 30fps. On top of that the game has ultrawide video, but displays it as 16:9 with black bars, like all Playstation games. So, what did I do to have sort of an ultrawide experience? I actually used the Windows magnifier (yes, you read that correctly) to zoom in the video and make it fullscreen that way. Played the whole game like that. xD Of course the video quality suffered from that. It was a pixelated, stuttery mess. I very much look forward to playing it again at 3440*1440.

Its a port, I also googled a little about it. 2 gamesites reported the recommended GPU to be GTX 1080 but when I check Epic its 970. I think they'll do some minor upgrade to the games but it will not be anything massive. Probably caps at 1080p, still its alot of upgrade against your experience certainly, hahaha XD
I have decided not to get both games now. I have a large backlog, I probably will get My Time at Portia. Today with the release of Uprising Bundle by Fanatical, my budget goes to them. I am, personally very weary about the Epic launcher and how communication works for games update. I was told there was a forum but I don't see it evidently. I don't think I'll miss out much for both games either. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure, it's a port. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad one. ;) I would hope (and actually think it's likely) that the game will support more than 1080p. Not sure if it means anything, but at least the Fahrenheit re-release was really good. Even had proper Ultrawide support (which actually was implemented better than in most games). So yeah, hope for the best.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah, its certainly a positive. I am more conservative on the expectations so when they exceed its always a Plus! Too many games, I don't really have a budget for games but in a way I do. Shouldn't spend all on games lol~ Since its a port I am passing it, that's what I am saying instead if its a new release and a game with replay values, I probably will jump on it like My time at Portia. Hope you'll have a great time replaying them on release and perhaps leave me a review or even a print-screen if possible so I may take note and also cry on my decision. Hahaha
Have a great Friday ahead! @KillingArts ^_^ ~

with replay values
I never cared much about that. I am usually happy when I'm done with a game, so I can go on to the next one. To be honest, I have a habit of not finishing games and going to the next one too early, which I am trying to work on. Good recent example: Sekiro. For me the best game this year so far. Enjoyed it so much. I am at the last location in the game. I should be really close to the end. But I stopped playing it 3 weeks ago and tried other games. Don't even know why I do that. My plan is to continue it this weekend, as I am not going out and will be home all weekend. Let's see if that works. ;)

Thanks, you have a great one, too!

On the contrary, replay value matters alot to me. I am probably suited to play Minecraft but growing up with Legos which accompanied me for most of my childhood, I cannot get behind the pixel blocks of MC. My top games played on Steam are games like Dont Stare Together which I suffered a burnout but returned to it recently and had been enjoying every moment.
CIV III, I do not always finish the games, I abandon most because I usually play in the Easiest mode. What's the fun? I like to dominate, clean the map, build cities up, upgrade them and own every Wonders in the world, in the process of learning the game. Everyone has their own playstyle so I won't judge. ;) I am easily distracted too. Achievements are great indicators to finishing a game, I am kind of glad that was implemented in games. That's when I know, I can play the next game and also that tells you, you have achieve what the devs thinks represents their games with.
I was on the road of playing games that have shorter 100% times to complete as many games in my backlog. I am sidetracked but I also realise certain games I am really not digging it or some achievements can't be unlocked which triggers me. That's very sad as some game devs just do not have the pride to at least have a working product.
I got on Steam late only by the request of a friend, I only started adding more games later. I have a budget so I am more picky and replay value factors for the budget too, which is in this case too. I probably had spent more than I should going by the size of my growing library and backlog. Which is why Portia is right my up alley having many ticks although I rarely spent over 5 USD on a single game. Most of my games are won on Twitch namely the TT bundle which was my 1st win, it adds quite an amount and I had yet to start on it due to having a old PC till recently.
I am more than half day through on my Fri but its been good. Worked out a little with my mom, have breakfast some pastries, 3 egg tarts, pretty tasty. Although there is still time before the day can go wrong for me hahaha. Over a good day, hope you'll have an equally good one or better! ^_^

That reminds me of how i often would play Colonization, my favorite Sid Meier game. I often played on easy, so that when I declare my independence, the AI is (hopefully) not able to conquer a single city. Which is not how it's supposed to be. They are supposed to conquer a few of your cities, and then you get some dialog saying that if you win them back, you win the game. If I remember correctly, that also broke the dialog a little bit. ^^ Haven't played it in years. Best game ever...
By the way, there is a Heavy Rain demo. It says it is available now, but I can't install it yet. The important part is the description. It says 4k, 60 fps and 21:9 support! So I think that pretty much confirms that all the Quantic Dreams games will be good ports, with everything I was hoping for. Yay! :)

This is a way better customer friendly tactic to compete against Steam . A nice sale with good discounts. I'm tempted to get Metro Exodus for $12 bucks and Outward for $6. Hope they do more of these sales in the future.

Or Valve, so they can send it to some other random user!
(I'm not letting the fact that Valve sent me someone else's identifying information when I ordered a steam link go, including phone number as well as enough other information that I had no problem finding out exactly who they were)

But Fnord, please! It's Valve and we love them. No biggie! Come back when you have the same problem with Epic, then we will gladly listen to your complaint and make a big deal out of it! ;-)

Well i said before that i won't buy games from Epic, but i per-ordered "Detroit Become Human" for 3.5USD only. My store is Turkish Store and the game's price was 20TL, that's a deal that i will never find again.. it's so cheap for an AAA game. Also "Control" game is for 7 USD only for per-ordering..

Which is what I expect to eventually happen with nearly everyone who is railing against Epic right now. The right game at the right price comes along, and goodbye "principles."
I myself don't have any such principles. I sleep just fine at night.

I wasn't really against Epic, but my thought was " I don't want to support the exclusivity for stores on same platform", i usually buy from Steam and sometimes from GOG. My main goal is to support the dev more than the store. The deal for some games in this Epic Sale is un-pasaable IMO.

so, if i have an authenticator on, i get 10$ off? the discount isnt for every user?, i mean, i cant get "free" games , correct?
btw, hades no longer less than 10 $

No. Nothing tied to the authenticator at all.
$10 every game $14.99 and over. The discount applies to each game separately. Use it as many times as you want.
