love them?
HADES for 7,5β¬ is very tempting, but i could enjoy my library until it releases on steam. Plus, its still on Early acess.
I dont know...it feels like it would be good deal if not for the launcher associated

valve gave 5eur on lunar sale, but it was for 30+eur purchases. Knowing valve not adding extra fees to the purchase it was about the same or actually valve gave more as my purchase was above at that time.
Don't want anything from their store, even if I would once an exclusive, physical box usually more than 10usd cheaper than digital copies and no transaction fee on it. And if I don't want immediately an exclusive title, then I can wait for a steam version.
Edit: btw, this "free" money is a sign exclusive games not selling well and they hope they can convince players to buy with this + sale some exclusives so they can post how successful their exclusives are?

You are aware Steam pimped their 2-factor at release by dropping the Steam cut at the market for users?
I see how people forget seeing Steam seems to induce massive global amnesia apparently
Or was Steam in desperare need of money 2 years ago?

I might do it just to get The Walking Dead: Final Season as a "freebie". I missed out on getting it on Steam and I don't feel like overpaying for a Steam key. Still sad about what happened to Telltale ;-;

I'd love to get Oxygen Not Included for $7.99 but it's still at the $22.99 price for me.

I have all of those prices $1 or $2 cheaper, Oxygen not Included at $6.99 for example, weird

So this after Epic CEO Tim Sweeney's recent comments about how they would stop with the game exclusives if Valve matched their revenue sharing system. Which to me begged the question why would they do that if they are in the business of making money (as Epic clearly is) and their store is so successful?? It seems to me far and away the best thing would be to just take market share away from Valve. Those comments just never made any sense to me. Unless of course they are just carefully-calculated spin-doctoring nonsense made to try and paint themselves in as positive a light as possible after some of the negative PR they have gotten. But more importantly perhaps he came out and said that for a larger reason, which I will allude to as I get into my next point.
To me this new 'promotion' is borne out of desperation for you to shop with them and to entice you to make it a habit that they are willing to do this and use the two-factor authentication thing as a red herring. One can only hope that it's because they have been spending all this money on their anti-consumer tactics like contrived exclusives and have grown increasingly concerned with the efficacy/viability and/or sustainability of their business model. I'm not drinking their kool-aid. I can read between the lines.

That's just PR. They are desperate to try to make the gamer's angers to anybody else

As for the starter, no clue. They do get 5% of all Unreal games on Steam so if Steam matches and devs still use their engine it's still sweet pocketmoney for Epic.

Well I'll just have to take your word for it. I don't really spend my time with something that is so inconsequential when my time and efforts are far more fruitful appropriated elsewhere. Anyway, are you equating that alleged promotion from Valve to this from Epic though? Are you aware that the Steam community market is a very niche thing (much like this site & community and the perspective of many here) and most people on Steam don't generally use it to any real meaningful degree (if at all) or even care about it? This in contrast to a supposed $10 store-wide discount that would have a far more broad appeal to literally all users. Aside from the fact that they both concern the same type of account setting it's not even a close comparison to me. One is throwing a niche group some crumbs while the other is a far more appealing offer to the average user, and to me that speaks of the differences between where the two are at. I'm getting the impression that Epic is driving a locomotive that just pulled into Desperation Station.

"alledged promotion"? What? Are we in the future also going to call flash sales or the gem-auction that? And yes, I am comparing the 2 monetary incentives to push people to 2FA with each other. Cause they are 2 sides to the same coin.
I am not aware the market is niche, since hundreds of thousands of users use it daily, and Steam sales and it's card's sales show massive amounts of people are into it. Most of them to make a little extra towards their next game, the heavy crafters are niche, yeah, but there needs to be a supply for them.
It's pretty much reverse F2P. Where most play free, several pay little and few pay a LOT. Here Valve gives a minor discount to many, about avarage to several, and giant ones to a few. Wheter or not which of the 2 is the most expensive promotion is all in the numbers, and I don't got those numbers so I can't say anything concrete but when you think Valve might have lost hundreds, even thousands to certain individuals in this promotion 10 a pop (really 8,80 since 12% returns right back at them) doesn't seem that excessive in comparrison.
But we really need numbers on both for definitive conclusions. I'm just not willing to heavily side one ways without them when we know just how much F2P makes in cash, often compared to full-price titles and these promotions are direct comparrisons.
But yes, for the avarage consumer this is the better deal of the 2. Just saying it might in the end not be the costliest of the 2 approaches, and neither reek of desperation to me.

I already have 2 factor on epic, I guess I won't receive the free credit :/

Still no smartphone here so I will have to pass just like I did on Steam. Hope they aren't as persistent as Steam to force it down people's throats, trading and the market are still barely functional to me 2 years later.
Meanwhile plenty of people with 2FA got scammed recently. It's security is a farce. But nope, not allowed to say no.

I gladly take the money and use it to get a free game at one point. Sale is good, but the 10$ for free look a tad desperate. Just my 2 cent.
