Any games you've had an awful feeling that it's not going to be that great and when you've played it it changed your whole perspective about it? These game might have technical flaws or is overall having bugs and issues, yet you personally enjoyed it enough to recommend it to others or not.

By writing the name here, you can also add lines if you recommend it, what's your thoughts on it and what things should others pay attention before purchasing it.

I'll list a few:

Game Issue Overall Thought
Assassin's Creed Unity Known to be buggy Although not perfect, I feel that AC Unity may be one of the best AC I've played that kept the series authentic. The parkour was also nice, although not realistic, it stood out above any of the assassin's creed I've played.
GreedFall Mediocre Combat & Story Combat needed adjustment to, but the story was interesting enough to remember it, I am surprisingly excited to see if there's a sequel in the future, as I'll play it 100%.
DEATH STRANDING Walking/Courier Simulator At this point in time, this game stands as one of the best games I've played and that's because at each step you are presented with more rewards and things to do. I've enjoyed this game way too much and I didn't expected there was any of it but package delivery.

Have fun! πŸ˜„

The graphics are relatively cute, looks like a mobile game. I would have misjudged it too.

Hunie Pop, saw a short YT video and thought it was stupid as F! Got it for free I think or super cheap cause I liked the match 3 but also the aspect of strat (kinda) with the girls? The dialogue is horrible but the gameplay kinda hooked me, I beat it but didn't 100%

I got the edition of the original Xbox One that came with Assassins Creed Unity and Black Flag, I'd have to say Unity is one of them. I had a friend hyping the game up but I also constantly saw people complaining about it so I thought it would be bad but the only bugs I encountered were hilarious, and the co-op sections were super fun.
As far as games that actually aren't buggy, rather I just thought I wouldn't like it, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is #1. It reminded me of Binding of Isaac which I wasn't a fan of, but playing it, the game was super fun and controlled a lot better than Binding of Isaac imo.I really only bought the game originally because a friend told me you ripped up tax papers.

One of the reason why I've not jumped on it on release. I honestly took a big break for Assassin's Creed since the release of AC3. My PC wasn't able to handle Black Flag and others back then and later when my PC was a lot more improved, I've never considered getting to play it. Once I did, I can say it's probably one of my top 5 AC games.

Oh I have this game in my library. Thanks for confirming it's actually a nicer game than it looks.

Got really addicted to both south park games on my switch. I'm not the biggest fan of turn-based games but since I beat Arceus I felt I should give it another chance. The 1st game was buggy and had tons of missable collectibles but I really enjoyed it. The second one I really didn't like the combat style but liked the overall story.

I've never picked it up because I didn't watch South Park. I found it rather hilarious and I think I would laugh a lot on it, but it's not a priority for me to play it. If ever I get the chance, thanks for letting me know about them.

Witcher. Hear me out. I don't' like fantasy. I don't like magic, and dragons and spells and demons and all that stuff. In fact, I think it's lame (no judgement) Same with vampires, ghosts, etc. All kinds of fantasy stuff I have no interest in. As well as superheroes. All of them. Avengers etc, no fucking interest whatsoever. I having trouble "believing" in this kind of thing, so I generally don't enjoy it. But yeah, well I was wrong about Witcher wasn't I. Didn't change my mind on other games or open anything new though :(

Witcher. Hear me out.

I read everybody's messages no matter if the game is or not super popular. We are all able to have our own opionions and likings. Not everybody is going to like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Witcher, Red Dead Redemption or GTA.

I think I understand why, but do share why don't you do? Is it because they are gifted with magical or supernatural powers that kills the struggles they have to endure?

It's a believability thing. Suspending my belief in physics etc. I find it hard to enjoy things I don't believe are possible. It's not just games, it's TV shows and movies, books etc.

I think it may be because of accepting that that kills your overall acceptance. What your believes? Are you more inclined towards science or religion and spirituality is out of the question?

Absolutely not religious, at all, for the same reasons. Not necessarily averse to spirituality though but in a tangible sense if that makes sense. It doesn't at all, does it

I can understand. I mean if you don't like a thing, it may be related to other aspects of life. You probably understand why people prefer supernatural or superpower stuff, so I don't think I need to go over that. After all it's your taste in what you like and what you don't.

New addition to the list: Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Rise of the Owlverlord

Finished Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams yesterday evening, and I was miserable by the end. The final boss was so frustratingly not fun that the designer should be triated.

So of course I started the standalone expansion this morning.
To be fair, it took only minutes to feel a lot better about this game. I think it even runs better - but while the levels are longer, I died less.
It was fun, it had original parts to it, and it used the game's world-chancing gimmick a lot more as fundamental elements in the game.
(For comparison, the "base game" was mostly about standard platforming, using the two girl's special ability to fight / each points, and endless amounts of spikes, elevators and moving platforms)
The final boss was a joy to play against, because they finally ditched the instakill water / lava under the arena.

It was more original, played better, was more enjoyable, and did a 180Β° regarding the final bossfight. While it was only 7 levels, I played it in one sitting :D

I normally don't play platformers anymore, but I'm playing something similar, a 2.5D Platformer, called Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. I can see you have it in your library. I won it here, and I wanted to play the prequel. This one is particularly more difficult as the previous one. It can get really frustrating. There's some things I wish it had from the previous one, but overall, it's not a bad game.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Rise of the Owlverlord looks to be similar, but obviously with more spin and the art direction is different. Is the standalone one, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams?

I'm not sure I clearly understand you, but yeah, Owlverlord is an "expansion" to GS: TD

Do play them as intended, as the story of the 1st is somewhat mentioned in the Impossible Lair. I was supposed to play the game to enter a Group here, and I had to put it aside and play the original first so I can not be fed spoilers. It can be played standalone, but you'll be better connected to the characters.

Was referring that it's similar to what I'm currently playing. So now I can understand that Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is the prequel and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams - Rise of the Owlverlord is the sequel.

I wonder if there's any real story to the games or not , here it was "girls get into magical land, go forward, and beat a big bad to get out" :D But considering the shorter time spent showing mechanics, it's clear that RotO is the sequel, yes.

Never heard of this game. At first, from the first video, I thought it was an imitation of Sea of Thieves, but after that I saw what it was about. It's strange because nobody actually promoted or spoke about the game. I'm pretty sure it gets fun destroying stuff and interacting with objects.

Maybe a bit surprising but The Witcher 3. Bought it, played for a couple hours and found it really boring. I decided to give it another shot 3 years later and around 10-20 hours in it got really fun, put over 150 hours into it since then.

Hmm probably The Evil Within series for me. I kinda avoided them because I kept hearing how it was just an uninspired clunky resident evil clone and stuff like that. I saw a bit of gameplay footage , wasn't that impressed either. But during a sale , for some reason I bought it and finally gave it a shot. A oh boy I was so glad I did. Now I absolutely adore this game and even played it multiple times. Bought the sequel as well and had a really good time with it too. Now this series is probably among my favourite action horror games , right next to Dead Space 2 and Resident Evil 4. And this might be a controversial statement , but while I really enjoyed Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake as well , I think I enjoyed Evil Within series more than that.

Although not a fan of horror that much. I don't like feeling tense for my life, I did enjoy Dead Space 1&2 very much. I learned to overcome my fears and feel like a total badass. I've never played Resident Evil or Evil Within, although I will some day even if I'm somewhat uncomfortable of the game. The only RE game I've played was RE 5 and that was with my wife. πŸ˜…

Castlevania Lords of Shadow. I kept reading mixed reviews on this one. And lots of people were calling it a bad Castlevania game and calling it a poor God of War clone. Wasn't really looking forward to playing this one. But me being a fan of action - adventure games in general , I decided to buy it one day. And surprise surprise I had a blast with it. Now this is one of my favourite action adventure games. It had everything for me platforming , diverse and interesting puzzles , a really fun combat system , really good environment variety and enemy variety. Story was good till the end and music was top tier too. And Sir Patrick Stewart himself does a lot of narration and plays a key character in the game. Overall it ended up being a 9/10 game for me.

That is a game I am personally intrigued as I normally don't play metroidvenian games, this was different, due to having action-adventure elements.

Thank you for reminding me of this game. I almost forgot I wanted to play it! πŸ™‚

I guess you don't hate them all after all. You've just been too critical on them. A game is just a game in the end. Some games are really good if they keep a realistic feel to it, but each game has it's limits.

Challenges and tutorials are always fun for me for games that I play or used to play. If the youtuber is entertaining, I'll watch him even if I no longer feel the need to play a game. It says a lot about both the game and the creator.

That's the effect of any soul-like game. You learn to love the challenge. I've played very few soul-like games with a lot more easier outcome. I've played a bit of Elden Ring. I wanted to finish another game franchise. I was also waiting for Widescreen update. If that ever comes. πŸ˜₯
