People being invited to their chosen chatrooms when logging in to steam. ArchiBoT keeps those people on FL for status updates. We use that heavily in Touhou Giveaways so nobody has to join manually.

as I still try to complete badges from time to time it would be in my interest if I could use more trade bots. But since I don't use the Steam Authenticator it would mean that the cards are in trade hold for 14 days. Although I know that this is annoying or disadvantageous for you I would still ask if there may be a possibility for such trades in the future. There are two strategies which could be applied although I don't know if the information needed for this is readable:
- The larger the Bot inventory the less of a problem it is if some cards are in a trade lock. Is it possible to grant Archibot a certain treshold like 1-2 % of the total amounts of cards he is posessing for trades without authenticator?
- Sometimes there are cards from lesser popular/known games which stay in the inventory for several weeks without a trade, also because trades have been blocked with users who don't use an authenticator. If the trade with the bot would have been accepted there would have been one trade in that time. This way there is none. Is it possible to give free cards for such trades after they stayed in Archibots inventory for a while (for example a month)? Not sure if the information how long a card has been in the inventory is saved somewhere. Probably not
I know that I can still trade with your bot by adding an additional card. But I would prefer a 1:1 trade. And lastly another question: Is the trade block only for the 14 days waiting period or also for the shorter ones? Let's say I befriend Archibot now. In one year the trade hold would be only one day. Would 1:1 trades still be blocked then or would Archibot accept them?

ArchiBoT has one simple purpose - being useful for everybody and working on fair use rules. I do not profit from the code I wrote, neither I have any benefits from thousands of people trading with the bot every day, as bot is receiving average of 3-4 trades per minute.
Trade holds were introduced by Valve, not by me. By accepting a trade that will be put on hold for X days, I'm pretty much freezing cards that are considered useful for other people, so I'm not only not gaining anything from accepting such trade, I'm even losing items for long period of time, as other people can't make use of them. This is where "fair use" and offering helpful hand ends, because you're demanding more than other people, and ArchiBoT is no longer helping you on fair use rules.
I do not plan on changing how current system works, because I do believe that every steam user can and should have 2FA enabled, if not classical one then WinAuth/SDA. If you don't want to do it for yourself, then do it for other people you trade with, because they're not happy from having a trade hold either. I don't have any reason to treat you the same way I treat 2FA users, because you're expecting much more than ArchiBoT's fair use, and while indeed you don't have direct control over trade hold, you do have a control over having 2FA enabled. That's why ArchiBoT has mandatory +1 card donation per every trade being hold, because you're not overpaying for trade itself - you're giving back to the community something extra as a "fee" for expecting much more than fair use allows.
So yes, answering your question - I do not plan implementing any possibility of such trades in the future. I do not have any argument why I should treat you the same way I treat people without trade holds. If somebody decides to not use 2FA, for one reason or another, I respect his choice, but at the same time he should respect mine, and understand that he forces trade to being on hold, not the bot, and that's why 1:1 trade in this case is not fair, because bot doesn't have such hold enforced - you do. Cards availability matters, not if somebody is actively trading them or not, so you can't make assumptions that those cards would not be used anyway.

Edit: Scanned again and this time CrushedBomb! trading bot was selected instead. When I clicked the button to trade, a new tab opened informing that popups needed to be enabled to allow trading. Set them to be allowed and the trade window opened. Not sure if this is related to the original issue or not yet.

It just started working after a while (a few hours maybe?) without any input from me. Figured it was one of those weird errors that Steam likes to throw out every now and again. Haven't had the problem at all since.

tbf if find the (steam) interface hard to navigate.I look at the inventory once a day, is there a way to see "what's new" ?
There are a few good coupons, like the 50% for Forward to the Sky, people should buy it!

ArchiBoT will automatically redeem gift if you send it through steam to him directly. However, I'm not a big fan of feeding bot games (as it's a waste of something somebody else could potentially enjoy), so unless you have a strong urge to get rid of that gift, e.g. because you have absolutely no use of that, consider giving it away (if possible), or giving it to some friend :3.

Right now it's just a placeholder thread for ArchiBoT, pending with proper documentation (eventually). I keep it alive mainly for people that already know what it is for - you'll most likely be interested in AI, chat commands and 1:1 STM matching.
Is the project still supported?
As stated in my thread closing statement, despite of SG thread being closed, I intend to keep the project up-to-date and supported through non-SG channels.
