Look, I just wanted to know how to remove games I don't like from the list to enter only for giveaways I like. Because most games I don't like are indies, some people assumed I hate the fact that indie games are on steamgifts, which I don't.

I had to edit my original post to prevent more judgmental hate, the problem was solved anyway thanks to the community. And I wish to apologize for "fighting back" to people who accused me of bigoting indie games. I may not have broken but it was still a toxic behaviour. I did it mostly because I didn't wanted other people to assume that is the case. But I was wrong. I should have simply said "No, this is not true, I don't hate indie games, and I wasn't compalining" without any side explaination or reason to start a debate. It was childish, immature, unreasonable and shortsighted of me, I apologize again for my behaviour.

I think in general at this point there are more "indie" games than AAA games. So by that logic, there will probably be more indies than AAA on SteamGifts.

It's not really a genre but rather the way they're developed and published.
If you go into technicalities, some people consider games like Half-Life to be "indie", just before it was a thing.

Edit:
I just checked your profile... all the games you've given away are cheap indies. Great. :)
And you've won games that aren't.... :)

Maybe someone pointed it out already, but you can hide giveaways for games you are not interested in ;) Just click that "eye" icon next to the GA's title.

Luckily there are plenty of indie games that kind of blur the line nowadays, because they're enjoyable, high quality games :)

I Understand you are not complaining....

However, saying you are only responsible for what you write, not what people understand is like saying, I was driving down the street when that kid jumped out, nit my fault he died.

Look, I very much understood you were not complaining, but the way you didn't complain felt like you were trying to not sound like you were complaining. That's probably were the passive aggressive comments are coming from.

How you present yourself is your responsibility. If you dress like a homeless person, and then say, well, it doesn't matter if I'm dress a homeless pen, you shouldn't assume that... You'd be wrong. You present to the world and the world interprets. That's life.

Your job is to make your presentation as easy and clear to interpret as possible.

Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback, this is off-topic, but the problem was already solved. I'm not looking to start an argument, I'm looking for your explaination so that I may actually learn something.

I understand that I am responsable for the way I'm presenting myself. But, when I also present that "I'm not complaining" and people don't believe that, isn't that out of my reach ? Like a hipster wearing a "I'm a hipsted t-shirt" and everybody calling him hobo even though the t-shirt says he's a hipster not a hobo.

It's the way you said it, that is typically used to say exactly the opposite.

It's like if I were to say, (as someone else said) "No offense, but I can't stand the sound of your voice."

So with you constant, I'm not complaining over and over, it comes across as passive aggressive. Someone else said you were from Romania, so I'm assuming that English is not your native tongue?

I mean, I realised that by "I'm not complaining" I have made people believe quite the opposite, it's was like "no offense, no offfense, no offense" which kinda backfired, made people skeptical, and then they assumed I'm complaining. It's still their logical fail, they just believed what they want to believe because they like to believe that thing, not all of them assumed this only some people, but even so it was still my responsability to be more speficic avoid such fail, I'll be more careful with this on the future.

In this case scenario it could have been avoided because my point was filtering games and I could've simply not talk about indie games. But if my point was something about how many indie games are, something at which some people would automatically assume I also call them bad games, how do I present that without having people assuming whatever worst case scenario they want to assume given the excuse ? Basically, the main question is: How do I protect myself from people's prejudice in these cases ?

There's still 1 question I have, after the "no offense, no offfense, no offense" I don't think people those some even needed a reason anymore, they already got skeptical about it, but where was the "I can't stand the sound of your voice" part from "No offense, but I can't stand the sound of your voice." in my post ? I'm serious.

I love indieland :) But just clarify it - AAA vs Indie is a terrrrible way to divide the games.
Because there is Colonial Marines and Skyrim.
Because there is Journey of the Light and The Binding of Isaac.
AAA and Indie are just ways to promote and publish your game, it's like " Hey, you're a girl". A feature of a game that says almost NOTHING about it, and even less about it's quality.
The reason I'm adamantly standing my ground with indie games is that I honestly think it's a godbless. So many great formulas and gametypes were resurrected and re-imagined giving the world fantastic games. But then the fire nation greenlight-scum attacked. Don't get me wrong, greenlight is also a great tool and opportunity, that's being misused by shovelware makers. And yes, sh*t is cluttering up Steam.

TLDR-ish: Indie is good to have, and AAA is not necessarily good. And yes, I also hate the generic TD, SHMUP,builder, voxelbuilder/zombiekiller clones that are beyong boring. I have like 1k games hidden (owned ones not counted it) because I don't want to get Gearcrack Arena. Or Slaughtering grounds or some shiet like that. But these excuses for games won't make the really good indie games disappear.
I suggest you to take your time of ~ 1-2 hour and go through the giveaway list, and check the games, if you're intrested in. If not, hide it. And please, (without being angry with you) stop saying " I don't like indie games". It's the similar overgeneralization like most stereotypes. Uriel's Chasm is indie. Outlast as well. Just get your genre-priorities straight, and I'm sure you can find some wonder in "indieland" if you take a deep breath and dive in, willing to search a little :)

Since valve f***ed up the regions and made those trade restrictions, i cant buy aaa games to give away, becouse they are too expensive. I used to buy games from cheaper regions with tf2 csgo keys to give away, but i cant anymore.

Not gonna comment on any of your other points on your post but just gonna mention this one thing.

I don't get how people can say "I don't like indie games". Indie isn't really a genre. All that indie means is that the game was made by an independent developer. It say's absolutely nothing about the gameplay nor what the game looks like. Indie games can belong to any of an infinite amount of genres. Some indie games even have an incredibly high budget and as such they have amazing graphics that are sometimes better than AAA games. Or an indie game could also be a low budget game with very simple graphics and gameplay. The possibilites of what a game can be when it is considered indie are literally endless. So saying you "don't like indie games" really is a stupid thing to say. The problem is that the statement has come to be too generalized and now people think all indie games are shit.

Sorry just a little rant I had to get off my chest. I used to have a friend that said he hated indie games and I eventually convinced him that the term indie didn't really have much meaning.

Use blacklist easy to do this like me: Displaying 1 to 25 of 37 results and blacklist all new trash games. ... problem solved? Now wait on win :D I have cca 3700 games blacklisted. 30 entries only on AAA or wishlist games, other few giveaways are "non-trustable" if u know what i mean :D If you want any trash indie game, raher buy bundle or go to trade section and give cards for it :D Put entry on games like 1P, 5P, 10P not worth by me, if game is for $0,25 in bundle. Steam is full of trash games (thanks greenlight) ... but if someone need "win" these games, his choice :) =much stupid bundles in last time =much stupid games on steagifts... i have 300 leftover games in my notepad :D (iam really not fan of indie games or any puzzles or "this style)

I enter for the games that are on my wishlist. I do have a huge wishlist though. There are so many good indie games. And then there are these buttons to hide games if you don't want to see them. What more do you want?

The problem is that Steam accepts every game into their store. Not to mention greenlight stuff and early acces things. It's just getting shittier every day (those badges are also causing these stuff).

First of all I don't blame anyone for only giving away indie games or even no games at all, everyone should give away what they can afford and no one can expect that someone give away some "expensive" stuff to a random strange stranger.

But I really can't stand people that are complaining about other ones for doing the same things that they are complaining about.
You gave away 5 indie games and now you are complaining about people just giving away indie games? Sorry but are you kidding me?
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

... so I usually go until page 8 - 10 to find games I like. Until few months ago, there wasn't this problem, there were a lot of giveaways for non-indie games and few for indie games, I could have found all the games I like by page 2 or 3.

Thats the part were you complain about the amount of Indie games on SG.
And then you said you don't complain even if you did it just moments before...

I said "there are many indie games" becuase there are many indie games NOT because indie games are bad / there shouldn't be indie games, if you can't tell the difference between simply stating a facts and complaining about something it's not my fault.

It's a fact that there are many indie game GAs on SG, but what you said was, that it is a problem that you have to check so many pages till you find a game you want, and that everything was better a few months ago. And that is complaining.
And that you, someone who just gave away indie games is complaining about the amount of indie game GAs is just hypocritical.

In the first part, my complaining was about having to check so many pages, not the amound of Indie games on SG.
Just because I have to check so many pages doesn't mean I hate indie giveaways, nor that I'm complaining about them.

Yes, that it is a problem (actually, not a problem, i can live with it, an inconveninent more accurately) that I have to check so many pages till you find a game you want. But if you go into a store, and can't find your favourite item, does that automatically mean you hate all the other items ? If you answer is no, then why is the answer yes here because it's the same thing after all ?

Because I was specifically complaining about it here ? As I said in the first paragraph, that was not what I was "complaining" about.
Or because I said "I'm not complaining" so many times ? That's specifically why I said "I'm not complaining" so many times, to try to avoid the things that already happened. I still believe it's amazing that people give away games for free, indies or not, and if you don't believe me that's your problem.
