LVL5+... :(
Anyways, Steam Direct was a terrible idea. Now, Steam Greenlight had its problems, and while a 100% ungameable system was a logistic impossibility, it could be improved bit by bit. While obviously I don't know the internal workings of it, there's dozens of measures that could help such a system improve.
Now it's just an entry fee, which is always going to be problematic. For the record, I find the "well, then just increase the fee" positions some people have taken over the months to be fundamentally silly, because that would just slow down scammers while screwing over starving legitimate developers.

Ahh, sorry about that... I think any level would be the wrong level, though... Not sure what to do... :)
I guess at this point all I have is morbid curiosity... Is Steam Direct the dumbest possible system? Or will the amazing people at Valve find a way? Can they work long enough and hard enough, sparing no expense, to invent something even dumber? :)

Thank you! But ... there are no boobies!? :'(
As for Steam Direct, I think it isn't really intended to do what Valve says it is intended to do, but I don't really see it as any worse than Greenlight.
What surprises me is Valve's trading card changes, and removal of various games from the store. This will actually lose them some money, I think, which doesn't seem like their normal MO at all!

Belated there's boobies in the second puzzle... :)
Yeah, cutting off the card money is costing Valve their cut of every transaction, which is the exact opposite of the typical Steam change. :) As a guess I'd say the "Valve no longer has a business relationship with the developer" stuff is that a sleazy "developer" pissed off precisely the wrong person at Valve, and they took it personally. Don't poke the bear... :)

True, but I did solve it, and I wanted to obey your, "Be sure to bump this when you solve the puzzle" comment. 👍🏼

Steam Direct isn't working as intended, so it's time for Valve to go back to the drawing board and come up with some new and innovative concept to deal with the problem.

bump
wow, there are too many issues, terrible rubbish games, entry bot, game-collecting etc.
which is more important?
I agree there are too many questions, but, if talk about gift has been played properly used or not.
Use the scoring system on steam and join some group about play sg won or achievement hunter is a great ideal.
English is hard to use.

I'm always happy if someone plays the game they won, but I don't bother checking any more - it's just too discouraging... :) People own so many games on Steam nowadays, even with only bundle games you can have a backlog of 1000 games... :)
Oh, try the new puzzle! :)

I heard good things about the Tales games, I did not get around to try one, but I am planning to try Tales of Zestria.

Very cool giveaways (one from my wishlist..never actually seen it given away before). Like the changes in points that are coming, but lately I only tend to pick some invite only giveaways and some from my wishlist so sometimes struggle to spend all my 300 points. Do think the anti-bot changes will be good, but again, I don't use the auto join scripts so may be biased :). And Steam Direct...I think if they got rid of trading cards then there would be very little incentive for rubbishy games to be churned out so quickly (and I love crafting badges so if they do that I would sob quietly for a bit, maybe).

Hmm, I think there will always be a demand for cheap garbage from the +1 crowd, to watch those numbers go up... :)
And sadly I was too lazy to check your 600-game wishlist, but there's a new puzzle with some more games... :) Maybe one of them will be in there... :)

Oh, I actually put it in the correct category this time, i.e. FREE STUFF INSIDE, CLICK HERE. You're welcome. :)
There's another puzzle added, so look around for it. It's in here somewhere... Umm, try reading or something. That link you didn't click on yet? Yeah, it's probably that one.
Hey, the weekend's coming. And I have no plans, but after reading the amazing topic I couldn't resist throwing some money away on random Level 5 humans to celebrate. Yay! :) You can imagine I pasted a bunch of celebration-related gifs in here, because I'm too lazy to hunt them up. Hooray for imagination! :)
Sorry, it's just a few cheap ones, because I'm cheap too. Oh well. And lately, Level 5 costs like $1 at Bundle Stars, so if that's too high, just spend a buck and go create a hundred crappy bundle junk giveaways, there's bound to be a few people who didn't buy all that stuff yet... :)
Obligatory Skyrim Rap: Gods be praised
Obligatory difficult anti-bot puzzle
OBLIGATORY MORE FREE STUFF protected by an even more difficult puzzle
Super-obligatory hint because some idiot set the hint timer wrong: COPY AND PASTE, PEOPLE! Sorry! :)
Good luck, humans! :)
Be sure to bump this when you solve the puzzle. Or umm, ok I don't care if it gets bumped. And bumps just reduce your chances, and we don't want that, do we? Let's just hope it dies in a couple hours.
Good luck, human! :)
So, as you're a human, you can read this dumb question which is probably just an excuse for me to bump the topic after people forget about it:
What do you think about the replacement for greenlight, Steam Direct? All I can think of is reductio ad absurdum, i.e. Valve's anti-curation taken to its logical conclusion. Soon the Steam store will contain 1000 real games, buried under a million pieces of game-shaped garbage. Good luck finding anything you'd ever want to play. No shortage of +1s for the game-collecting lunatics, though... :)
p.s. I was going to make a Skyrim giveaway, but the store's been saying Processing Payment for the last 15 minutes so never mind. Hopefully I will remember to check that tab next week or something... Sorry gang... :)
