Praise the sun man. Dark Souls is hard and if that thread you keep linking is correct maybe it's best to just move onto other games. I've played and beaten the original Dark Souls 2 a while back and didn't have the problems that you stated. . . and that was on a console.

Yeah... I heard about the exploits and eventual cheese in the second one (and I guess it's still that way). The third was fairly easy too, overall. The first boss, secret boss, and last were the only ones that took me more than five tries to beat. Most took two, as I watched the moves and learned the patterns the first try, and either beat them, or died from the whole "getting acquainted" aspect. Since rolling breaks the whole "git gud" idea, it wasn't really too bad overall. Just roll and learn enemy moves and you've got no problems. You don't have to really have much skill, but then again some people are better at certain genres than others. I didn't finish DS 1 ever. Started it on console years ago...

Eh, blighttown isn't too bad, and I played that with mouse and keyboard (with the mouse fix. Defaults controls are terrible)

Problem with blighttown is how shitty the port is. Prepare to FPS drops and optimization problems. It's true Los Izalith is "unfinished". I'de say more than unfinished is unpolished, rushed, filled with same creatures we saw before and made the cheap trick of "quantity over quality" to create fake difficulty.
New londo is okay, but it's so fucking dark and I needed to play it with shitty graphic settings, so the dark was "darkened" :(

You know, I never experienced performance problems in blighttown.
Maybe its because I'm using DSFix.
The problem I have with New Londo isn't that its dark, its because the fucking ghosts can hit you through the walls, there's a bunch of them, and they have a tendency to get stuck in the wall while attacking you, so you can't retaliate. Its some bullshit.
oh, and you either need a certain item, certain weapons or to be cursed (so half health) to be able to hurt them.

so many answers and so few people who can make a difference between being unable to beat a game due to a lack of competence and point a game's flaws. saying that an ice cream contains too much sugar to taste good is not the same as being unable to eat it. sure for some posting messages for the sole purpose of mocking someone for one's self ego in such nice echo chambers to get the quick and lazy belief of being thoughtful and right is more easy and appealing than to think and to be right
