When it goes on sale, I'll get it. Not made of money and $60 for a game is really something I should not be spending, sadly. I have all the other Wolfensteins, even the one pulled from Steam. I'll get this one eventually. Really excited about it!

Nope, it's only published by them, Machine Games makes it....

I must be missing some kinda gamer politics here. Please explain? Or is this a joke that flew over my head?

Yeah but this is not made by them, its published, I played it, its not buggy actually, has a bit of pop in but its nowhere near as bad a problem as in Rage. It's not even made on a Bethesda engine, it doesn't have the bugs that Bethesda games are known for(These idiots need to make a new engine and stop rewriting over an old buggy one IMO).

Understood. Thanks for the education. I think I read somewhere about the bugs in Fallout 3 but though I own that one, I started playing FNV first, and haven't finished that one yet. I guess I'll find out when I get to FO3.

Don't think that publishers have no role in why games are what they are. Look at EA's shit. They do not even do much in the way of developing if at all, but all their games tend to have the same problems. Why? They are the guys that tell the devs what to do, how to do it, and how fast they have to do it. Because of this, a lot of EA's games are a buggy, poorly thought out, mess. As for Bethesda, I did not know that about the game. I just said what I know, that is their reputation.

i played watch dogs myself. the driving is terrible, there are bugs everywere and its bad optimised. wolfenstein is way more polished and fun

wolfenstein is a lot of fun, but it is absolutely not well optimized. texture popping almost as bad as in Rage (mega-textures my ass!), while having some extremely low-res textures. constant frame drops (which should not happen on my system). and as far as i've heard pretty heavy problems with AMD cards.

So Wolfenstein: The New Order is going to be released soon for PC on Steam.
I was considering getting it, but decided to check some of the playthroughs. The graphics look pretty good, but it looks like a railshooter. The gameplay appears to be insanely linear, really turned me off from buying it. Also I noticed images of new weapons you pickup flash up explaining how to use them, horrible design.
How do you guys feel? Anyone plan to purchase it or already pre-purchased it?
Also I don't see multiplayer listed, so it's basically $60 for a linear single player campaign...
Looks like it's going to be a pass for me, maybe pick it up for $5-$10 in a couple years just to see if I was right. I'm getting really annoyed that most of the single player games are so linear. I want smart AI, I want levels that can be explored, I don't want set paths.
Thoughts?
