Do you have some phobias ?
I was doing some work experience thing but the place was so small and some (like the boss) didn't care one bit about the covid regulations, so i quit and i spend a majority at home, although i did take over my fathers part (he was in a major risk group) of doing groceries for a short while until he wanted to do it himself again, my mom was too stubborn to keep doing it herself.
So in a way it was actually "safe", but then you create such a safe bubble it's actually harder to come out of (now), what used to be normal (like a doctors visit) i tend to avoid now, stuff like that, and well i got a new shrink, there was some disagreement and to give me a kick after, they took me off my meds for 14 weeks now, which didn't help either (still in a process of getting them again, but everyone is on vacation..).

I see it really affected your everyday life, you are brave to take care of your father,
i hope that this situation will soon be behind us and that you can live again little by little !

Thanks, well he unexpectedly died exactly a year ago, i sometimes still can't shake it off, if it had to do with the vaccins (you do hear those stories even though they are rare). Not that you can do anything with it either.
I am starting slowly picking things up again, quitting alcohol also does clear your mind.

I don't have a strong opinion on vaccines (my husband is not vaccinated, i went shopping for grocery for both of us during the covid), i am vaccinated but understand that some unlucky people may have suffered heavy side effects because of that. Unfortunately nothing that can repair or console when one is grieving, sorry for your loss, didn't realize how hard it was, you're even braver to overcome it !

Arf unlucky, i still don't understand this irrational but common fear of spiders.

Well, all I can say is that since my mom is very scared of spiders, I got tough as a kid spiders are scary so not much you can do about that, same as that my niece is afraid of bigger birds since her mom is afraid of birds, that's the problem with fairs of parents.

I remember it started when i was little after reading a magazine about how spiders capture and eat their prey 😑
and yet rationally i know that they are very useful animals and that most of them are not dangerous

Vertigo is really particular because we feel sometimes as fascinated by the void, here video games can even allow us to safely admire things that we couldn't irl, it's amazing ! ^^

Not sure if it's a phobia, I can deal with cockroaches if I have to, but the thought of those spiky furry legs touching the skin disgusts me to the bones and I dodge them as fast as a cat when they come near me. I wouldnt care about them in game though.

There are some in House flipper but the dev nicely offered an option to replace them with glass shards because 🤢

I don't think I avoid games because of my phobias since I am scared of spiders and heights and closed spaces and such but it's not so bad I can't handle them in games, my reason to avoid many games is stuff like first-person since I have a bad motion sickness...

And it's an excellent reason to avoid some games, motion sickness can really make you ill, games like mirror's edge have a small white dot in the middle of the screen to compensate, it's smart !

Thank you for these advices !
It is surprising that it is relatively rare because one would think that it is a popular theme.
Embr i remember to have got it from a bundle but didn't try it yet.
112 operator is an amazing concept !

Snakes cant tell if they are venomous or not so better stay away from them

I suspect that this would be a much more common phobia if they were everywhere, but fortunately they are extremely rare in many countries.

Hello, after some hesitation in the end i was curious to play the firefighting game.
The funny thing is like many people i suffer some phobias. Some that i can't control (have to look elsewhere when i see a spider in a videogame), some that i can control (bigs dogs... or fire).
And you, have you phobias ? To the point you avoid some games ?
