Bethesda has opened the Beta for their "Creation Club" and is giving away a Survival Mode for the Skyrim Special Edition which will be available for free through October 10, 2017 (Clarification: You get to keep the Mod. It won't be removed after October 10).

How do I get it?

Go into your Steam Library, right click on "Skyrim Special Edition", click on "Properties", click on "BETAS" and select "beta - Beta".
Wait until the download finnishes (~ 80 mb) and start Skyrim.

Now click on "CREATION CLUB" and create an account.
(If you have problems creating an account because you can't write an "@" you have to change your keyboard settings to the US layout, then you can write the "@" with Shift+2)

Then purchase the Survival Mode in the shop and it is yours for free.

Paid Mods?

Hell yeah! Supporting the modding scene sounds like a great idea!
Nah... typical Bethesda cashgrab!

I believe that because of competition all base games will be free in the future. Companies will try to sell DLC's only.

I tried to login in Creation Club or even Mod section but when I enter my email it says $CreateAcct_BNET_BEAM_INVALID_COUNTRY
Even with using vpn I still get this, I tried another email but it didn't work as well
Does anybody know what is the problem?

So I've got it without any regional problems (I am from Poland and have polish IP).
However, I still had to create an account and provide my email address. Well, hopefully it was worth it to get this DLC (or whatever) free...
I am still not sure if I would enjoy the game at all knowing how bad Bethesda treated gamers

Thanks for the info about this!

debated going through the motions of adding the dlc to my account as a 'ha ha, i dont have to pay you, bethesda' action.. but then i realized... thats exactly what they want. they want us to get used to this 'we control the dlc' bs, and im just not interested. On principle, im not going to pay this mean spirited bs any attention, just like it deserves. I know theres still going to be those out there who will make mods for free - for the love of the community and out of their own desire to learn and test themselves, and those are the ones ill support.

Thanks for the info that its permanently free for those who grab it now, though. I wasnt sure if it was just a demo for those who try it in the first week.. and honestly, i dont think even bethesda knew what they were going to do (knowing them, probably treat it as a demo, though) until they saw a bit of a backlash from the community.. theyre still trying to get us on side because theyre not 100% sure just yet that this dlc stuff is a slam dunk with the greater community... sadly, i think it will be within a year, however.

I will not support and/or use creation club in any way. Mods should be free.
