Description

Oh, hey, this looks like another one of those horrible boobie game giveaways. Better not read the description, there's nothing to see here... Just remember to idle it fast if you win, if you wait too long it might end up in a bundle, and you won't earn enough to buy a piece of bubble gum...

Hmm, still reading? Hoping for a better giveaway hidden in a youtube url? Sorry, I'm too lazy for that nonsense. Instead, have some Dark Souls Frogs.

Oh, not good enough? Yeah, it's a stupid video, I just searched youtube for "frogs" and picked one. Maybe you can find something here instead:

Don't bother, it's nothing... :)

Wow, can you believe it, I almost forgot to ask a question. Umm... Oh! Here's one!

What do you do when you can't check for evil giveaway winners because "sgtools" isn't working? Do you check everything manually, like in the old days? Or do you just say screw it and hope they didn't do anything wrong? :)

Good luck! :)

I don't use SGTools, I usually just check if they don't have the game already, the rest I leave in God's hands.

Oho, that was fast, I didn't expect an actual comment so quickly... :) At least, not one written by a human, if you know what I mean... :)

Guess I'd be more concerned if I still did "level 0" giveaways, you never know what's going to happen with those... :) Guess I never noticed how much time that checking tool is saving, I remember poking through pages and pages of wins, hoping not to find anything bad... :) Never again... :)

Good luck! :)

Yeah, I think you don't see quite as many of the obvious never bothered to read the rules people with higher level giveaways, but there's stinkers everywhere... :) Oh well... :)

Thank you for your nice VN giveaway Fiftykyu! :3

SGTools is not much down or in maintenance so in that rare situation I wait for sending the gift(s) until SGTools is up as I have 7 days by the SG rules to deliver the gift(s).

And to put thing into perspective I have to date made about 1400+ SGTools giveaways.

I'd like to imagine it's nice, but somehow it's giving me that "boobie game" feeling, like Sakura whatever... :) Maybe the winner will find out... :)

Aha, yeah, I could have just waited a bit, that's a good idea... :) Seems it's working again now... :)

Ugh, 1400? I'd either go broke or crazy trying to keep track of that many giveaways... :) Hopefully most of your winners actually played them! :) I can't bring myself to check any more... :)

Good luck! :)

Aha, another vote for "wait" - I didn't think of that... :) Was just happy to find the winners online quickly, sometimes it takes a few days of everyone's in a different timezone tag... :)

Probably not... :) Good luck! :)

I don't know if anyone needs it, but sometimes a person doesn't want a game they win, and gives it to a friend instead... Just never read the rules, or whatever... If nobody checks, they will probably keep doing it forever... Oh well...

Good luck! :)

I don't often use SGtools. I find that most of the time when I do giveaways, I do a bunch all at once, and then when it comes time to sending the gifts, I am just too lazy to check all of the winners so I just send them out and hope for the best. If it's something you do for all of your winners, I recommend waiting. You have 7 days to deliver the gift afterall

Interesting, maybe it's not as popular as I thought? For some reason I was thinking almost everyone used it... Oh well... :) But I can agree with lazy, checking winners isn't any fun at all... :)

I usually don't check. But today I just discovered that one winner of one of my GAs asked for a reroll after use the key in another account.

Now I'm a sad panda that will have to check every winner :(

Ouch, that's just evil... :( Hope it doesn't spoil the fun of giving away games that people will probably play, sooner or later... :) Fortunately sgtools doesn't check for that, or we'd all stop giving away stuff... :)

Good luck! :)

I'm doing giveaways mainly for groups, so people are "checked already", at least those better ones..
I don't really like sg tools, but yeah, sometimes I check my winners of public giveaways... I even found some rule breakers and after 1 week without reply from mods I decided to sent game >.< It happened to me twice, so last time I didn't even bother to do it.

still need to figure out what you wrote there

Weird, I thought asking for rerolls was the fastest thing, but maybe the support people are a lot busier lately... :( Think I'd probably keep waiting, hope I don't have to put that to the test though...

I usually don't check unless it's a low-level public giveaway, but even then I usually don't check. :P

Aha, that's one way to solve things... :) I seem to remember one giveaway winner had kept the game in their inventory... :( Think they eventually picked up a cheaper copy from their region and sold the region-free gift for profitz... Yay...

As others I just tend to check if people already own the game before sending it to the winner. Everything else often just takes too much time.
I normally put worthy public GA games behind an SGT gate to have less to check... Or when creating large trains ;)

meh, I know you got two invite-only GAs running but can't find the entrance :3

I haven't tried using the sgtools thing to protect giveaway links, just the tool to check if people didn't activate things, or won the same game 5 times... :) But if there's a tool to check "knows how to read" I'd probably be tempted to use that once in a while... :)

Don't bother, it's nothing... :)

Did you ever try the automatic rule checking thing? If I ever see someone giving away a free game by calling it something else, it can be interesting to check... Often there's a bunch of wins mysteriously absent from their Steam library... :)

As always, looking forward to a thrilling story. In all seriousness, I do like the art. Terrible art in a visual novel or text-heavy game ruins it for me.

The art's got to be better than the Dharker Studio horror show at least... :) Can't imagine there's much story, but it would be nice to be wrong about that... :) I'll probably get it in a sale eventually, and check for myself... :) Or, plan to check but forget to play it... :)

Good luck... :)

I just realized the game title has a significant misspelling. Shouldn't it be Just DeSSerts? DeSerts (one S in the middle) is the one with the sand.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I was curious about that too, see here... :) Presumably it's intentional, I mean the store page seems to have a lot of sand in it, but I wouldn't call it a particularly clever choice of title... :)

One S is the correct spelling here. It's just an archaic use of "desert" that only lives on in this particular phrase. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/just_deserts

I've never used SGtools, but I do snoop around my winners before I give them the game. Just so I can silently judge them if they've been bad. >.<
Thank you for the chance. :)

Aha, I suggest not checking if they've ever played any of their wins, that's just too depressing... :)

I don't suppose people giving away a few bundle leftovers expect the winners to play them, but... :) I remember noticing someone won Skyrim, back when that was a big deal... After a couple years they had no achievements at all, and just enough "playtime" to get the precious trading cards... Glad I wasn't the person who gave that one away... :)

Good luck! :)

For me, yea I will check thing manually. It just a single person anyway~
Maybe if the winner more than 10 person it will be different story..

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hopefully it wouldn't be one of those people with hundreds of wins, you might waste a whole afternoon checking those manually... :) I'm generally only making one giveaway at a time, so yeah if it were a huge pile of winners to check that wouldn't be fun at all...

Good luck! :)

I don't talk to people on Steam much, basically I add the winners and send them the gift when they notice... :) It might be different if I knew something about the games, but most of my giveaways are for stuff I haven't played, so it's hard to say much about them... Umm, maybe it's fun? Hope it's not as bad as it looks? :)

Oh, speaking of that, I hope this one's fun, and maybe it's not as bad as it looks! :) Good luck! :)

Haha, nice. My conversations with my winners usually don't last very long. Often it's just, "You won!." "Yay, I won!." "Here you go!." "Thanks!"

I just like giving my gifts to people "face-to-face," so to speak. It's more personable that way. :3

All I know how to use are the "rules checkers" things. You type in their steamgifts name and it checks if they activated all their wins, or if they won anything more than once. Then you can ask for a reroll, and see what happens. If it was something from years ago, there's a good chance they have already been punished for it, but there's no way for us ordinary users to know... Oh well. :)

Good luck! :)

I usually wait until the point where I feel like I'm obligated to send the key (1-2 days, though I know I have a week, I feel bad not sending it if I have the chance) and just hope SGTools is back up by then. If it's not, I check quickly but not very thoroughly for multiple wins and if they have the game they won from me already. If I'm looking and they don't have their games activated and I notice, well, sucks for them.

I guess if sgtools were down a long time, there'd be more problems than not being able to check rules-breaking. Don't a lot of people use it to protect their giveaways, too? Guess I don't really keep up with things in the forum, but usually when I look there's some sort of things going on that use it...

Good luck! :)
