I know, it's an old thing now, the "Region Lock" shit... and I understand that this won't change in any way!

But

Since here on SG I can't get any "real value " on bundle games, and have to give bout 4 times the amount of gift/keys so that I can earn the true value. AND Considering the fact that I'm not able to buy anything without a " region lock" even if it's full price. How can I earn my value if whatever I buy has a region lcok and I can't share it here?
And yeah I know everyone wants it, so here's your GA

edit: Has the clicky thing changed or am I just not smart enough?

True, there is a possibilty to trade. It's just that it's damn not faire!
I mean I've got to go twice or maybe three times the efford the get a ROW key, since first I've got to find someone who wants a region locked game for a ROW game -or- have to pay 2-3 games for a non bundled game.

You can also buy TF2 keys and use them as currency. A lot of traders do that.

and it's fair to us, who has games with high prices? And no one wants to pay you ROW game for region locked. only, if it's the same value. I have seen some retards trying to get exact ROW game for Region restricted version..

Not many people will want to exchange a region locked game for their unlocked game.

Cross region trading has, sadly, taken a missile to the patella.

There are sites that sell region-free keys (not every game on those sites will be region-free but some will be). So check out amazon.com, nuuvem and so on (and double check for each game).

Well, I am looking at them. It' s just that - and I think that everyone agrees - It was a nice time have ROW stem gifts in the inventory

Also, I've been told that you can create Private and Group GAs with region locked games as long as it's perfectly known to the users that it is locked

Some russian told me you gotta buy games in a 4-pack, so one is RU restricted, the rest are ROW gifts. That being true, hopefully the price for the pack is not so high, so you can find friends to share 2 versions while you give away the last one. Steamgifts could compensate the social gaming initiative + the extra-work in order to giveaway copies indeed, don't you ask me how, though.

Hmm, I'ts not that I'm russian but I'll try to buy a 4-pack when the price is right =) I think it's worth a shot!

Thanks for the info

Please, first confirm the info. If true, and the price is worth it, I might candidate for some social buy...

It is true. Well at least it was some weeks ago. I don't know if Valve made any changes to this system. Source: My trustworthy russian trader friends

good idea (i recently did it with a 2-pack actually. but no, i'm not russian.) but the problem is even if you find a multipack of a game you want to give away, you obviously can't give it away if you already own that game since you can't buy it in the first place. so many constraints involved but still a good option.

Sorry didn't get he last sentence. You can't give away a game if you already have it?

I mean it's true that you can't trade within 30 days but you can still send em via e-mail? am I wrong?

well, if you already have the game in your library, you can't buy the multipack.

i'm not sure if we're on the same page here. :D if you already have the game, you can't buy it. single copy or multipack, doesn't matter. you can only buy a single copy as a gift. there was never an option to buy multipacks as a gift. there was a bug though, to make it possible but it has been fixed. anyway, if you don't have the game, you can buy its multipack and you'll get one copy to your library and other copies to your inventory, as it always used to be. the only difference now is the copy that is added to your library is a region locked copy. so if it has a play lock or whatever, you might have problems if you go abroad. but your friends should be fine because the copies that are added to your inventory are row. or were row last midweek because i bought a 2-pack at midweek sale. i don't think this (row copies from multipacks) is a bug though. i mean it's valve, you never know what they'll do but telling people to have friends only from the same region would kinda be wrong, wouldn't it?

Yes we are on the same page. I mean, I get it - they wanted the region lock, ok - but that only meant tht I can trade "only" within my territory, which kinda sucks =))

But I'll try the 2-4 pack thingy hopefully =)

You can trade games with any region which is cheaper (or equal) in price to the region in which you bought the game. So, buy your games from stores and/or traders that sell them ROW.

Here are a few tips to help you out.

  • Get to know some traders who have access to good sales sites. When a sale comes up, they can buy a game and trade you for it.
  • Get to know the sites that have regular deals. Some sell new games (e.g. GameKeysNow), others sell bundles (e.g. HumbleBundle).
  • Watch Steam for special deals. When you see something for 80% off, contact your NA friend (or whomever your buyer is) to get it for you.
