And my vote goes to a game that actually already has farm animals in it.
When it comes to games based around dinosaurs & shit, I'm pretty sure Lego Jurassic World is a better fit for the category - At least that has a few domesticated pigs in it.

I lost faith in them when they added a $20 DLC for an early access game.
You may not see the animals in Ark as traditional farm animals (which is what the award should really be for), but you do actually farm and breed dinosaurs and other creatures for their resources in the same way as traditional farm animals.

When the Scorched earth dlc came out for ark i was furious.Like wth !!! A dlc for earlt access game ? whyy.But then i bought it.MAn i was so satisfied with the new contents that i felt my money well spent.Even if it is early access game it's one of the best early access and survival game out there.
As for the best use of farm animal ark definitely fits the category.I selected it for the category before the sale started.And if it wins and we get the sheep i will be quite happy :D

Peopele crying about the dlc released before the release of the game, feel free to use the already existing thread about this and read everything there, or use google to find another QQ thread. About this sheep, Ark already have a lot of content, way enough to not be bothered by them not adding another dino, i also voted ark for the game i will always come back to, no possible to vote in two different categories if i remember :p
Also i don't believe its any kind of scam or whatevee, for me you spend so much time farming in ark that you can already say those dino are farm animals :p

I think I saw on Youtube playtrough long time ago that you're able to make egg farm using small dino bird(?) / chicken? (I'm not sure, didn't played the game).

update: after some clarification, it seems that the sheep will be added whether they win the award or not. they also clarified why they were in that category (because dinosaurs are being used for farming, as several users pointed out in this very thread). they also mentioned that valve encouraged them to rally the community to vote, whatever that means.

i think thats nothing more than damage control when they saw a bit of a backlash coming from trying to 'buy votes', much in the same way publishers in the past have paid for positive reviews and greenlight games offered free keys for votes to get onto steam (which valve themselves put a stop to)

EDIT, JUST BEFORE BEDTIME the devs have clarified that the content will be added whether they win the vote or not, as well as clarifying why they were nominated for the farm animal category and mentioning that valve had told them to encourage the fans to vote. whatever that means. nonetheless, the scumminess has lessened.
EDIT, SEVERAL HOURS LATER ok so, i will freely admit that i was in a rush to get to work when i opened this thread. shouldve known better, shame on me. that said, i sat down and read the article in full twice over and....nope, even after reading the entire announcement, still seems kinda iffy. its the greenlight votes for game keys shenanigans all over again. but somehow, this one feels worse to me. i guess cuz the game was at one point pretty highly acclaimed, and now its devs are doing this.
although the dlc thing shouldve tipped me offi guess i'm just kinda confused at the whole situation.Also, giveaway

So the devs over at ARK have announced that should they vote for (and i assume win) the best farm animal award, then they'll add a sheep. So what I'm reading from this (assuming i'm reading it correctly) is that ARK wasnt qualified for the best farm animal award, they got in, and then offered a farm animal should they win the award.
I mean, to me this seems kinda scammy/scummy, but idk. What do the good folks of SteamGifts think?
