It dawned on me this morning that, despite my best efforts, I have a whole 383 games on my wishlist. I think it's been more than a year since I had less than 300. The number never seems to go down.

On the one hand, this is a good thing - a wealth of games I want to play even when (.... if...) I finish my backlog. On the other hand, that's a lot of games!

What about you folks? Do you have a lot of games on your wishlists? Do you like using them (especially after the last wishlist update)? Why or why not?

I wonder if it'll keep growing as fast in the near future though. Steam Spy has been my most important tool to discover new games for my wl. I doubt that it will last to be as useful as it used to.

43, plus 13 free-to-play games that I put there for tracking purposes, so I don't forget about them.
That said, I only put unbundled or f2p games on my wishlist...there are about another 15 bundle games I have on my Steamtrades "I want" list.

It's interesting how the results are pretty even (so far).

You convinced me to do some wishlist tuning!

Previously: 242
Now: 218

Progress...sort of! I'd have to do some in-depth research to get it any lower.

Like a lot of people, I have multiple uses for my wishlist.

1) Games I really want -- Far Cry 5, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Railway Empire, Surviving Mars.

2) Games that look good, but I'd only pick them up on sale -- Bush League Hockey, Kona, Firewatch, Assassin's Creed: Origins.

3) Unreleased or Early Access games whose progress I want to keep track of -- Super Mega Baseball 2, Jurassic World: Evolution, Astroneer, Firefighting Simulator.

I love that the Steam wishlist is synced with IsThereAnyDeal.com -- it's nice to know when games go on sale or are bundled, and it's really nice to know how the current sale price compares to the price history.

That sounds like a wonderful plan! (I can personally voice for Firewatch being a very good game. I also thought Kona was pretty good)

I agree! I only wish steam wishlist synced with more places, like the Humble Store

Currently 61, but I never let it go too much over 100. Usually over half of it tends to be random DLC but only got 13 pieces of it ATM. Rest of it is just HOGs and games I really wanna play.

348, but most of them are more like a reminder that they exist and I might want to play them. I would say around 50 of them are a true wish ?

I have 30 games on my wishlist. Just deleted one I already bought recently on another account (Trackmania Valley). Most of them I'd never buy. I just added them at some point to remember I wanted to buy them in deals or bundles, and looking at them now I'm not sure why I wanted them. Some of them I'd buy if they every appeared for $1.

411 and counting. It sucks that it reminds me that I don't have money to play buy them.

38

I used to have ~50, but throw away some, bought some and I'm at 38. I'd like to add more there, but sadly I didn't see anything interesting lately.

I like the new design, the new information, and how it's more responsive. Why don't you like it?

56 currently purchasable games that I would play, and another 63 of DLC, games that aren't released yet, or free games that I am tracking because there is no better way to do it on the platform. :(

I feel that. I have a section on my wishlist that's just games that aren't released yet. I like getting those emails letting me know they're out now!

Sub-300 for now, with a top ten (currently 9, I think?) and things grouped into Early Access (so it's easier to tell if it's left EA), DLC, hardware, unreleased, etc. I'd like to get it lower, but it's usefulness as a filter here on SG means I keep adding things I find intriguing rather than just absolute must-haves.

I think that's a good way to use the wishlist!

I like putting things that are intriguing but I'm not sure I'd want to buy them myself on there, bc then I can search for giveaways for them on here.
