Enough remaster already. I am (kinda) ok with the old games but LiS not that old + it is a game that can age well.

Holy shit at those prices. Would be nice of them to just give the remastered version for free or at least very high discount for those that own the originals.

Too bad Life is Strange True Colors cost waaay to much and I think it doesnt look very good if you compare it to the rest of the LiS games and Tell Me Why game.

Now there is a scandal around the NieR:Automata.
Read on and realize that SQUARE ENIX is one of the worst game publishers of all time.

I love the first Life is Strange but I don't think it really needs a remaster at this point. It only came out in 2015. That's not that long ago. Before the Storm only came out in 2017-2018.

I'm excited for a new Life Is Strange but I haven't actually bought or played the second one yet. Still waiting for a better sale price.

Despite my computer dying before I could make it more than 2/5ths through, and the game quickly getting bundled, I hadn't regretted pre-purchasing the first Life is Strange (after all, like you, I loved it).. until this very moment. Nothing scammier than a publisher forcing/encouraging a repeat purchase, and nothing to make you regret an early purchase quite like it.

As others have noted, there's some justification if what is offered bears a meaningful difference and is presented after a significant period of time- for example, there's not really any pushback against the Black Isle or Age of Empires remasters/enhanced editions or definition edition remakes at all (well, other than how abysmal the handling of the AoE DE games has been, perhaps). But popping it out this soon in, and with seemingly incredibly minor changes..

Besides, then there's the consideration of how absolutely terrible the hair and facial expressions are in the trailer for the new game are, when compared to modern AAA standards for such (which is what the price tag for the game is clearly indicating it's intending to compete against). In fact, it's lacking also just against the first game (which, in fairness, avoided issues by not even really trying to match mouth movements to words :P), given that it looks like the characters in the new game are talking with their teeth, not with their mouthes or face. [Real uncanny valley vibe there..]

With that in mind, I just CANNOT imagine any of the changes in the remastered versions were at all worth considering- after all, at most we can hope for some better lighting and them not carrying over the terrible facial animations from the new game? In fact, maybe I should grab the non-remastered Before the Storm while I still can.. No telling if they'll keep it up post-remaster release..

Good grief..

Yeah, no, I'm not going to buy an adventure game for the price of Cyberpunk. Will wait for at least 50% discount.

I will wait for a 100% discount.

Just... why?
Why would anyone who already played the originals buy this?
The story is the same and the graphics of the originals are pretty good even today.

No, that's pretty normal- take the Skyrim Special Edition, just 4 years after the original game release.
The issue here is that the quality of the remaster seems dubious thus far, with what little info we have to work with and, moreover, unlike the trend of other remasters we've seen with that small of a timegap*, there's no word thus far on previous owners getting the remastered versions at discount or for free.

* And again, there've been many that've bumped up against half a decade or less- ranging from Bioshock 2 [6 years] to Darksiders 2 [3 years], nevermind the just 2 year gap State of Decay had on its Year One Survival Edition remaster.

Basically, it's not that publishers aren't supposed to remaster that rapidly, but that the minimal changes associated with such a brief delay mean that consumers expect that they'll be gouged less (for what some developers will actually offer as a free update to begin with).

If they'd also remaster the gameplay, so that choices would actually matter. I mean really matter, like, one story several dozen endings and ways to get there - depending on your choices. Looks like it's just improved visuals, though. So it's probably just a cash grab - I'm not interested in that.

Silly carlica..
It's not just a cash grab- it's a Big Publisher Cash Grab™.
Just you wait, the next announcement'll involve cosmetic lootboxes. >.>

But seriously, this is disappointing on so many levels, starting from the poor treatment of past customers and ending with how lacking the animation quality for the new game is. Bleh. :(

I just hope they don't remove the original version from Steam because of this remaster bullsh*t
and the new one is overpriced, that's it

Another Deck9 LIS ok then. Didn't even finish watching the trailer.
Before the Storm was just simply ok, the backtalk mechanic (or whatever it was called) was boring.
Remaster of LIS why, what exactly are they "remastering"? It's a good looking game already, and I don't think I ran into a bug even once. Will it be free for owners of the original?

Those prices are really headscratching. Not sure why they expect 60 bucks for a point and click game and 40 for the remaster...

This is some grade A level insanity. But looking at their history of being dissapointed with the TR reboot selling 3.4 million in it's first month, their handling of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and their insane pricing of the Kingdoms Hearts games on EGS....... is anyone surprised?

i just finished lis2 a couple days ago so i'm stoked for the new game, but i don't understand the reason for a remaster.. like everyone else is saying.. those prices are laughable. guess i won't be playing them for a couple years.

Hmmm... number of red flags for me on the new Life is strange. That price obviously, but also the developer. Before the storm was not nearly the same quality as the original story, so I just don't know that the story will be as engaging. Either way it'll be a while before the price matches up with what I think it's worth to me, so I'm sure the general opinion of the game will be well known by then.
