My thought is that we should consider nominating Telltale Games as the "Developer of the Year" because this is their last year ever as a studio.
As an outpouring of Fan Love and Appreciation for all their years of great, good, and not-so-good games, lets nominate them this year. It will be, among other things, a nice pat on the back for them--audience applause, if you will.
On the other hand, I have become aware of some not-nice financial actions towards their now-former employees. Do what you will. (You were going to anyway. ,-P)

Alternates for me include Bethesda, Traveller's Tales (if I could figure out how to do so--they do not have a steam page), Bohemia Interactive, Irrational Games, Bioware, and CD Projekt Red.

Your thoughts?

I wish they could rewrite Die2Nite and Mush from Flash to HTML5 :/
But then, they made a good job on Dead Cells

Thought about it too, but didnt want to approve their move with paid mods and I dont like the whole thing with their new Fallout and how they constantly push micro transactions.. They lost so much character...

And seriously Bethesda???

Bethesda was kinda a sarcastic one, tbh, given recent events, but Dishonored and Morrowind are on my Wishlist, and I've heard good about Skyrim.
I'll probably vote for Telltale or CD Projekt Red, but....

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

ALL Bethesda games are crap when released & now moders will not be able to fix F76(online only-no messing with files).Dishonored wasn't developed by Bethesda, but Arkane, and Skyrim is still a buggy mess without mods/unofficial patches

47 GB for a patch-SAY WHAT?!?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I think poor writting, shallow gameplay, and outdated presentation matters more then bugs. Not to mention pushing paid mods as a thing when modders are the only ones attempting to fix their game.

So my question still stands(I know OP said it was sarcastic),but when did Bethesda LAST develop a game that wasn't a shit-show?

And like you, don't care so much about bugs-my favorite game of ALL times(finished it 10 times at least) is Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines-and that game should win an Oscar for bugs

You can't because they didn't put up a home page yet.

What you could do is quote one of their comments to get their attention and tell them to create a homepage so you can vote for them.

Sound as a nice way to say farewell to Telltales.
To me this year Bethesda is far far away from the top 10 developers Team Cherry also should be considered for Hollow Knight, if im not wrong Godmaster was releassed FOR FREE on August.

I wanted pick "Team Cherry" for Hollow Knight (fair price, lot of content added for free, ...) but it doesn't work. Is it laggy or you can only pick among a small selection of developers ?

Team Cherry for some reason I couldn't pull up either.

EDIT: I found out why.. they don't have their Home Page setup.

Damn... I hope it will be available in the next days. An incredibly good metroidvania with a ton of content and a little price. I've never seen this huge amount of creatures and bosses in other metroidvania. I'm maybe biased because my enjoyment for this game, but I think it's really one of these games where you can feel the love of the developers for their creation. They really deserve it (in my opinion).

Edit: Ah ok, maybe someone should tell them to create one.

Edit 2 : Apparently it's already mentioned on their forum. Wait and see....

Still deciding.

I am voting the developers or Warframe. Last year their game won the Labor of Love award and this year and went event bigger with the game. They deserve it for listening and working hard.
For Labor of Love this year my vote is Path of Exile. They deserve it too.

And isn't it odd that a F2P game can thrive for 5 years now & at the same time big publishers are bitching about piracy

I met a person in game that told me that he was offered free items for another player but turned them down. I said why? He said "I don't mind paying for them and supporting the game."
This is their achievment. If you are good at and love what you do, people will appreciate it. Not everyone, but most will. And that is what matters.
