Oh god, drag me to hell when the dead body puked into the girls mouth.

I enjoyed the reboot, especially the practical effects but indeed it doesn't beat the original trilogy. The series is awesome though, you should start watching it. Bruce Campbell's still got it. :)

Rosemery's Baby, The Exorcist (only the first and the third one skip the second and the prequel), More modern could be the first Paranormal Activity, 13 Ghosts, Alien 1, 2 and 3, the first Child's Play movie
Edit: more came to my mind
The Ring, Ju-On Amityville Horror, The Fourth Kind and one more I cannot seem to remember the fucking name, it was about a haunted mansion but it was pretty good

The Emily Rose one was very good, but there is a (German?) version that surpasses it. It is pretty good and I recommend it to you.

I'll try to look for it, it's kind of an obscure one and its been years since

Do you want a link for the stream or just a link with info about the movie?
http://www.primewire.ag/watch-2722467-Anneliese-The-Exorcist-Tapes-online-free
Use an ad blocker if you want to stream the movie from there.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1911533/ here is the info link.
I just realized I am retarded and I watched the movie in German even though the original audio was in English.
The movie combines real footage (documented during Anneliese Michel exorcism(Emily Rose)) so it gets kind of messy but I enjoyed it

oh no not this again, i've seen all of this and it scared the shit out of me just because some kind of disturbing stuff, it's doesn't contain any story, idk why they created these kind of movies ;(
it turned out i've been blacklisted by you, but well anyone had their own reason, i respect that

Hostel was a pretty good horror movie for some reason I like horror movies that have puppets like Childs Play and Puppet Master both those are older horror but still good, Hellraiser series again older and ofcourse Nightmare on Elm street or the older Halloweens are good too lol I could go on with more but that should do for now.

If you like zombies. REC (1), the rest aren't so good imho.
If you like creatures horror, The Thing. (Both old one and new one are good)
Have fun!

Depends what type of horror you want:
The type of horror movie that stays in your skin. - REC, Audition, Martyrs, CACHE.
The type that's corny as shite. - The Saw Collection, Poultry Geist, Shaun of the Dead, Trick 'r Treat.
Or the type that's just a Jumpscare fest. (I don't mean that in a bad way either, they're like roller coaster rides, loads of fun) - Insidious, Paranautical Activity.
I'd also like to point out V/H/S, only some parts are good, but they're really good.

I've only seen a couple horror movies, but Insidious was amazing. I definitely recommend it.

I like to go into movies, especially horror/thriller style, knowing very little about them so I won't say much about my recommendations here. I've included imdb links though if you want more info
watched Absentia and Jessabelle recently and I thoroughly enjoyed them both
Jug Face is an odd one that, while perhaps not as good as it could have been, is definitely worth checking out. the music and art style of the intro does a great job of building up the atmosphere too and makes a nice (very) short by itself
Resolution, if you can get past a handful of rather stupid decisions by a character, is well worth watching. there's also an ARG-style tie-in website, it does feature some minor spoilers for the movie so you may prefer to read it afterwards, or you might prefer to use it to build some anticipation of the movie beforehand. or not at all
one of my current favourites though is Triangle
if you want something a little more light hearted though, I highly recommend The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, the sequel The Lost Skeleton Returns Again and, by the same people, Dark and Story Night some great affectionate parodies of the genre

The 80s version of The Thing is better than the newest reboot. Too much CGI in the reboot.

GF and I want to watch horror movies this weekend, what should I buy? I'd like to hear suggestions (preferably ones that are worth owning on Blu Ray since I will be purchasing from Amazon, will buy 1 or 2)
Fire away :) what's the best of the best, we both haven't seen a lot of horror films, most recent one we saw was Krampus, and that wasn't pure horror
I've heard The Conjuring is worth owning, Insidious, The Descent etc
