for me its without a doubt"Thru the vibe" from Omni Trio/and the whole MSX 98 radio channel in GTA Liberty City Stories, it gives such an atmospheric feeling, especially when you are driving in the sunset at Staunton Island :3 or maybe its because I love that kind of bumpy techno music they play XD

Almost anything done by Jeremy Soule, Inon Zur, Michael Hoening (Baldur's Gate), and Andreas Waldentoft.

I always found, outside of a handful of standout tracks, the soundtracks made by Jeremy Soule to sound very samey, and as a result, most games that he participated in lacked their own identity in the soundtrack department. Sure this one is great, but for the most part, the Elder Scrolls soundtracks sounds overly similar to the Guild Wars soundtrack, and the Icewind Dale soundtrack.

Full of nostalgia:
Terranigma

Honorable mentions are Bravely Default, Xenoblade Chronicles and Ni No Kuni.
Of course there are more games, like Zelda, FF and many more which guarantee goosebumps :3

Surprisingly, there aren't many PC games, although some have really scores, like Payday and TES games, or the Civ4 main menu theme

Bastion and Transistor. Darren Korb FTW!

EDIT: From games not mentioned yet, I also really like soundtracks for Frozen Synapse and Cave Story.

My favourite is the soundtrack of Alone in the Dark by Olivier Deriviere, the first track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3Ur3FWk7wg

The theme that plays frequently throughout Dungeon Siege I -- especially in the beginning.

Of course Jeremy Soule is fairly well regarded for many of his works.

She talks too much, but oh well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWpLH3Jxxl8#t=477

Hard to forget Return to Kharak....

In terms of entire soundtracks, however, the old Black Isle games have refused to leave my skull since they first came out.

Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate II
Planescape Torment
Icewind Dale

(Honorable Mention: Diablo and Diablo Il.)

I assume you're only talking about the first game rather than both. (The second game had a better soundtrack.) Here are some examples from the first game.

1) Main Theme
2) Exploring the Plains
3) The Friendly Arms Inn
4) Entering Baldur's Gate
5) Night Falls on Baldur's Gate
6) The Lady's House
7) From Out of the Storm

You can find the full OST here.
