Agreed. I just add people when/if I feel like it. Although I give out garbo because I have no money to give out good stuff so being whitelisted by me means almost nothing. Lol. I think they just want to find more people to "recruit" as not every active user might be chatty. But on the flipside it mostly attracts people with no sense of community, those who exclusively post to be put on wishlists or get a link for an invite only giveaway. It doesn't really matter though.

I don't think that people talking about their wishlist giveaways in a thread have any bad intention, whether it be to brag or make people beg. Some people might have specific requirements and it's easier to have people come back to you than to look through hundreds of profiles to see whether they might be good candidates. You can be annoyed by people treating their wishlist like that, but using them for a specific kind of Steamgifts user is just as valid as using them exclusively for your friends in my opinion. To each their own, not everyone wants to bother with groups.

i prefer whitelist giveaway more due to the fact that i know who i am adding in.
I tend to add those who doesnt leech games only and give out games too :)
So doing a giveaway thread allow me to know if they want to join and also to know their ratio
