If the value was to get increased after a certain amount of time, people would just hold on to their keys from free promotions or cheap bundles until the value goes back up and then give them away to get much more CV. Because of that, once a game is reduced in value, it stays reduced forever.

I'm not positive, but I think I remember hearing about a game that had it's value increased after a long time because it was a small promotion (not a lot of keys) that caused it to be reduced and it was after a long time, so there probably wasn't many people that would still have keys. I could just be making this up in my mind, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading about it years ago. If this happened, I'm sure it is a very rare thing, so don't count on it happening with a specific key you are holding on to.

i see, seems like a pretty rare occurence then, yeah. would there be some kind of announcement if it were to happen?
in any case, i think this information should be added to the FAQ ( - not that i have any idea about how to make that happen)

I don't know for sure if any games have had their value increased after being decreased, I just think I remember reading about it. I think that would be the kind of thing they wouldn't want to announce because it is not supposed to happen and they don't want people to try and predict that it might happen and store keys to get an unfair CV advantage.

I don't think I have ever seen the "reduced value" of a game changed

It never does, even if the game wasn't really given away but came with the purchase of another game. I'm looking at you, State of Decay YOSE.

Is it any good? The reviews at first were mixed. But apparently they got better with the YOSE edition. It's a game I'm always wondering if getting it

Yes, SOD/YOSE are very much worth it if you are into zombie apocalypse setting and don't mind permadeath. There's some jank but the fun outweighs it.
