Xbox 360 4GB Console with Kinect and $100 Gift Card Package for $300.

Should I buy it or wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday for a potentially better deal? Should I not get an Xbox 360 at all? (Been a PC gamer my entire life if that matters). Probably only going to play Kinect games on it w/ my family and maybe an Xbox exclusive once in a while.

Everywhere I look people are trashing Kinect. If you want some family time with motion controls maybe you would enjoy a Wii more.

Disclamer: never owned any of them.

The problem with Kinect is that there's really only one game worth playing on it: Dance Central

Waiting for any sale is pointless the hardware NEVER goes on sale so you'll be waiting for eternity. Coupons never work on console hardware either.

The problem with that bundle is the 4GB hard drive which is 100% WORTHLESS. You can't even play some games because you can't do the local installation of the data. So that $100 gift card is going to be used for the 120GB hard drive. Note BF3 LOOK LIKE TOTAL CRAP unless you do the hard drive install.

If you're that hard up on Kinect I'd go with this bundle instead

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Xbox+360+250GB+Console+with+Kinect+and+%24100+Gift+Card+Package/9999169000050011.p?id=pcmprd168700050011&skuId=9999169000050011

Comes with a 250GB hard drive and the Kinect bundle

If you don't really need Kinect

$50 gift card and free xbox gold. You need xbox gold to play online a 'hidden fee' the xbox fanboys tend to overlook.

This guy is right, only popular game is dance central. All these motion control games are just a big gimmick or passing fad. If your really interested into console gaming look for the game system with better exclusives.
As a owner of multiple gaming rigs I'm slightly more fond of the playstation exclusive games, but thats just my opinion.

My opinion? PS3 + Move. Kinect is so crap, and the Xbox exclusives are a joke.

I've never seen many games on either Move or Kinect that are really compelling to be honest.

There are some games that have decent Move support.

Killzone 3 comes to mind. TB compares it to a mouse in terms of ease of use.

I wonder how the hell does that even work.

You move via the secondary controller, you 'aim' via the Move. So you're replacing the 2nd analog stick with the Move controller essentialy.

Again you say 'decent' which to me means that while nice I don't really need the Move for anything really compelling. I get the same experience by just using the controller.

Dance Central/Garden of Eden are the only game I can think of on Kinect that are actually a good games, and can only be done via the peripheral described. Actually I think Garden of Eden would have been better with a controller to be honest the Kinect controls are too wonky for a game that requires such precision.

Rise of Nightmares seems like a decent Kinect Game. Heard it's clunky, though.

Personally, if you already have a decent gaming PC for the bulk of your gaming, I see no reason to buy a 360. PS3 offers more value to a PC gamer IMO, more exclusives. Not sure how Kinect fares against Move, but if all of the pathetic things I hear about Kinect are true then Move can't be much worse.

From my perspective here is my recommendation

1) Do you play a ton of blu-ray movies? If yes PS3. Period. It is a future proof blu-ray player. So you get a Blu-ray player and a console for 'free' in a sense.

2) Do you prefer online play/integration/etc. X360. Face it Xbox live is a zillion times better than PSN.

I wouldn't really take into account 'exclusives' there are increasingly rare and really you could count exclusives on both consoles on one hand.
