So groupees sent me one of their usual emails and there was a bit at the bottom claiming that you could get $5 for free to spend on groupees' bundles, the thing is that the site is only in chinese and even after some google translation and finding what I assume was the right button it said to me that my account wasn't elegible.
Try your luck, maybe you get it to work: https://www.paypal-biz.com/campaign/game/ (it might only work with new accounts, who knows).

Edit: ok people I get it, it sounds like a scam but I did check some basic stuff before clicking in the login button. The url you're redirected to is good old www.paypal.com but with a region specific "c2" added, anything after the ".com/" belongs to the same page, that's how adresses work. Also firefox recognised it as a legit paypal page. I'm closing the post anyway as soon as the ongoing discussions are over or have been inactive for a few minutes.

Paypal-biz.com?
Googling this brings up a chinese site as its first hit, as you said. Given paypal is an international company available in many languages and that site is only chinese, and using an unfamiliar address? There is no way in hell I'm going to be signing into there with my paypal info unless I see official word from a known reliable site, thanks. :P

edit : I would suggest changing your paypal password immediately, OP. Just to be on the safe side.

That passive-aggression is totally unnecessary.

Claiming websites are so evil that you must immediately change all your passwords, install a big nasty antivirus rootkit and reformat your OS is totally unnecessary.

Whatever did that poor strawman do to you? Leave him alone!

If you knew what passive aggressive meant or if you knew what a strawman is, we'd totally be attaining nirvana by now.

But the log in was through the usual paypal adress, but yeah maybe it would be safer to change it anyway.

I'm always wary of sites like that regardless. The most successful phishing sites closely mimic official sites down to even using the old capital "i" to replace lowercase "L" trick. Probably a false alarm on my part, but when your money is directly concerned I would always preach caution, especially seeing as paypal is a big business they usually have their websites and offers pages on point. Slimeballs ruin everything for us, and I don't want to hear about your account being jacked because you dared to trust for a few seconds. \:3/

Says

Thanks for using PayPal for your shopping deals! You may have saved the maximum offers available from this merchant.

My German PP gives that "already saved" error, at least on my accs that previously took part in the free Steam money summer sale offer.
My girlfriend's RO PP gives an "offer not valid for your region" error.

Searching on Groupees' social media may shed some light into this. If there is indeed a promotion, they will probably mention it.

Groupees staff don't really understand it, but at least for one it worked earlier today.

I've bought stuff from groupees before and I usually get their promotional e-mails - but I didn't get that one. I might suggest caution signing in anywhere unusual with your paypal or groupees password...

Did not ask for any info on my groupees account and the paypal log in is through https://www.paypal.com/c2/signin?returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.paypal.com%2Fc2%2Fwebapps%2Fmpp%2Foffers%3Fview%3Ddetails%26save%3Dtrue%26offerId%3DAECDSNH2SALBG
That https://www.paypal.com/c2/ at the start look just like it's just the chinese language login page, nothing weird

Like I said, I haven't even seen the e-mail so I haven't seen any of that and I'm not about to argue with anybody. If you or anybody else is happy logging in there or anywhere else (or in any sites that I can make up for you) then go for it. I was just suggesting possible caution about logging in anywhere unusual with your important passwords - which I don't think is generally bad advice.

I do check, always. But everything under https://www.paypal.com belongs to paypal and the green lock thingy in firefox said that it was indeed paypal so I had no reason to doubt. As I said, that c2 part seems to refer to the language.

I think it's either maxed out / expired or fixed to not work outside China anymore.

Likely. I was able to claim a BeMine using that coupon, yesterday. But it's very weird, overall, not sure what's up with that coupon.

Are you the Miller from Groupees? I think you used to have a different name here so I can't tell.
If so, could you confirm if this is official or not?

Miller, the bundle curator from Groupees, yep! I have a different name here :D

To be honest, I personally do not know how this deal works. I found out about it yesterday and applied it on my account, documenting every step with screenshots. A coupon was added to the wallet section of my PayPal account, which I was able to use to purchase a $3.75 BeMine at no charge, and it didn't use the entire coupon, which means the $1.25 left could be used for another bundle in the future, i think?

Again, I don't understand this, but it did work when I tested it. If you want more information, contact Groupees official support.

Actually that's good enough for me, at least now I know it did work at some point. I'm closing the discussion soon anyway so I don't really care anymore, the response here was a bit too dramatic for my liking.
Thanks for the response :)

Google Chrome and Firefox both verify the paypal login link as secured. So it is safe but the promotion seems maxed out.

Yep, but people here assumed I just jumped at it without making any check. And since it seems to be over this thread is pretty useless right now so I might as well close it asap.

The site appears to be a legitimate PayPal site. Its SSL certificate is a valid EV certificate registered to PayPal, and if you check the whois it's also registered to PayPal via MarkMonitor. Those who have used the offer reported it as working (or at least when there were still uses left).
