Well, I just went to the flower shop to get a nice bouquet for my wife. But to my surprise the shells where empty. The flowertruck hasn't arrived yet. So sadly I arrived home without flowers. At least I got some sweet strawberries instead. They are red as well.

And for all you nice people I present you a Lily

So tell me, what is your favourite flower? And which colour?
And have you received or given flowers recently? I'm just curious.

Personally, I'm not a fan of flowers. I don't spend much time at home, so I can neither care for them or even appreciate them for the looks.
However, due to certain circumstances, I find myself buying and giving a lot of flowers to other people, and the biggest favourite is by far white roses, the people I buy them to really appreciate them a lot. (Also yellow roses are liked due to the message they convey)

I love flowers! Though I prefer to see them in a garden (or at least a pot) than in a vase. Some favorites of mine:

  1. Roses
    • Red roses: Mister Lincoln, Ingrid Bergman
    • "Black" roses: (black roses don't exist in nature; what we call black roses are either very deep red/brown/purple or dyed black. They're still beautiful either way!) Black Baccara, Black Magic
    • White roses: Climbing Iceberg, Memorial rose (Rosa wichuraiana)
  2. Lilies of the valley (Convallaria majalis) (careful with these; they're extremely poisonous!)
  3. Lilies of the Nile (Agapanthus)
  4. Columbines (Aquilegia)
  5. Rhododendrons
  6. Azaleas (which are a type of rhododendron, but whatever)

...I think I overthought this. ^^;

I do not think you over thought this. I've even got the feeling you left some out and that there is a whole story behind it.
I really liked that you put so much thought in it. And it always make me happy to see flowers. So your post makes me extra happy. So many beautiful flower. Thanks for sharing it with me

With so many they are beautiful. But a lonely one, not so, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing the flower you love

I don't like to receive flowers - It feels like waste of money xD Also I don't have place to put them so they go almost immediatelly to the garbage bin xD
I don't like to give flowers either - Jewelery cost almost the same as bouquet but it won't fade :)

I like to have flowers in garden though.

I hate getting flowers. They die wayyy to quickly for my liking. Those fake ones are nice though.

Awww q.q without any special occasion you wanted to give her flowers? That's just lovely <3

Hmm, although I really like roses and lilies, it's always such a shame to see them wither ._. But apple, cherry and plum blossoms ar just as beautiful and a full blooming tree is a dream come true ^^ So, I pick blossoms, instead of flowers :3

You know, buying flowers without a special occasion is much better. Because she never expects it and the surprise is so much bigger. That doesn't mean I don't give her flowers on special occasions, but I enjoy giving it without her knowing it.

Blossoms are beautiful. I've got an appletree in my garden and when it blossoms it's just magnificent. And even better, if everything goes as it should go, I end up with a lot of appels at the end of the year

I personally prefer plants (unless the flowers are planted in a pot and not cut). Last thing I gave away instead of flowers: No special occasion, I agree with you on that, it's much better when it's random :3

But my favorite flowers are mostly because of smell usually. I love lavender, Lilly of the valley or also Everlasting (I'm not sure about the english name, it's just my guess with the translation, sorry, it doesn't seem to have the equivalent english page.)

Here's the English Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xerochrysum_bracteatum (French article doesn't contain the changed scientific name)

I like flowers, but my pollen allergy (well, maybe not allergy but still) makes it impossible for me to appreciate them. Heck, I have a hard time going outside without going into a sneezing fit, and sometimes there are days when I just sneeze and blow my nose every few minutes. And that's when there are no flowers around. :P

Some flowers are fine though. A lot of the decorative flowers city beautification projects grow tend to smell nice but not make me sneeze too much. I think maybe the trees are trying to kill me rather than the flowers. Or maybe the grass. Everything's out to get me. D:

Orchids because they can be difficult to handle but smell great, a very good reason to care.

I prefer live plants/flowers as opposed to picked. The exception is for stuff I'm about to eat. P

Favorite color is green, followed by white.

I don't find flowers appealing at all. Still, I'd prefer receiving flowers to giving, 'cause I'm pretty clueless and most likely would commit faux pas by choosing wrong color/wrong flower.
