Hi, I'm looking for some games where you take serious (or not so serious) decisions, or make some choices, changing the story of the game. It doesn't have to be on Steam/PC. Any suggestions?

Already played Alpha Protocol and Heavy Rain.

Thanks :)

i found the original game to be too short. i think i "beat" the game in 8 hours or something like that

yes, "original" game ends in about 8 hours, but the real game begins after that. space phase is just amazing, if you give it enough time.

i might try the game again, i liked the space phase but i found it too easy, maybe if i give it time it will be better.thanks for the advice

Witcher 2 has the BEST choice system of ANY game.

Mass Effect and Dragon Age have nothing on it. Bioware can make great games, but when it comes to moral choices they only see in black and white. Either your character is a saint, or it's a bloodthirsty demon. Not really a lot in between.

Witcher 2 has realistic choices with realistic outcomes. Every choice you make will mostly have both positive and negative effects on the story, and it's up to you to decide what's the lesser evil in your personal opinion.

That's the reason why every choice in Witcher is usually really hard to take, while in Mass Effect the choice basically ends up between being pure good or pure evil.

In the end: If moral choices in most games tend to be black or white, in Witcher 2 they're all different shades of gray. I can't recommend this game enough.

It's a visual novel/time management hybrid. It's actually surprisingly fun. I think there's a demo on Steam, if not there's definitely one on the publishers main site (Hanako Games).

and ME3 if you subtract the last 20 mins of the game

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

People need to stop trashing ME 3 just for the hell of it. Yeah, the ending made no sense, and the DLCs are ridicoulus, but nevertheless it's a tremendous game. I liked it better then ME 2 for sure.

i still dont like the last 20 mins of the game. yes the gameplay is excelent but the lack of a final boss and the way that your choices make almost no impact in the ending of the game make the last 20 mins horrible in retrospective way.
is it good? yes.
is it great? yes.
is it a masterpiece like 1 and 2? NO!

It's...unique, really. I don't think there's any game similar to it.

It's an RPG/hack-n-slash with good combat and...well, AMAZING humor. I don't remember laughing that much in any other game.

Skyrim, to an extent. Not as much as other games, since you can pretty much join nearly every faction (thieves, dark brotherhood, etc) and still not be hated by anyone. There are a handful of things, like choosing Imperial or Stormcloak and taking over Skyrim for said side of the war, and things like that... but yeah. Its "radiant AI" hasn't made many people hostile to me no matter who I've joined (with the exclusion of the war thing; the Stormcloaks hate my guts, and the dark elves think I'm awesome for helping the Imperials lol).

Recettear and Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit too, but they were listed.

fahrenheit was AMAZING! i had amazing expectations ofr heavy rain because of this game. i hope beyond two souls will be at the same level of fahrenheit, for me heavy rain (storywise) is very inferior to fahrenheit.
