is it considered leaked if it wasn't even behind SGTolls(SGTools)/puzzle ?

Well they could have just linked the thread , or would that still count as leaked

During some time there was a dude putting links to a website where he put ads with links to SG giveaways behind the ad. Doesn't seem a very nice attitude, so notsure if he has been banned or just stopped doing that.
That's the closest I've seen to SGTolls ;)

Does that person saying that they are leakers mean that they really leaked the giveaway? Is there proof that you would be able to tangibly see? I'm not saying they didn't leak it, I'm just saying that accusations can be a powerful thing, especially if they turned out to be wrong.

Why would they do that? It's not like it's hard for you to find that out!

I agree! Wow, that was the best discussion I ever saw on Steamgifts!

You did not use sgtools/puzzle etc. You posted the link in steamgifts discussions which is public and anyone can see it.

I'm not saying it's ok. Just that the link was not hidden.

People not passing requirements are a guaranteed reroll on leaked SGTools giveaways, which keeps track of all valid and invalid entries.
There's no way to prevent someone from leaking a SGTools filter link that people meet restrictions for, however, even if it's behind a puzzle or the like.
Nevertheless, SGTools is still an extra layer of security [and many of the non-activation/multi-win individuals that comprise these groups fail a basic filter in the first place].
I imagine that's all combatbeard is getting at.

Yes, just some misunderstandings between myself and a couple of others. Thanks Sooth.

I would still call it a leak. The method of obtaining the giveaway link in this case was first clicking on a Bad Rats giveaway thread and then on the Bad Rats giveaway link. It certainly wasn't apparent to people what the actual giveaway was.

I'm not condoning the leaking of private giveaways. Just pointing out that the link was openly posted by the giveaway creator on a public forum which means anyone can see it.

They have some legit leakers in there.
Edit: Are we allowed to enter these leaked giveaways now or what?

I've sent the link to your topic where you advertised your Shadow of Mordor 5 copies ga to my buddy, does that mean I've leaked it?
Comment has been collapsed.
I linked him to the topic and I was thrilled to hear he actually won a copy :)

I don't exactly know what you're saying here. I'm not sure if leaking the answer to a puzzle is against the rules (I guess it is), but saying to someone that it's for a AAA game and linking to the topic is not a problem (as long as you don't link to the GA itself).

saying to someone that it's for a AAA game and linking to the topic is not a problem
But it's the main thing of the thread (or puzzle). If GA creator had made a puzzle and stated that was an AAA game, there was no problem with that. But s/he intented to keep it secret as long as someone didn't find out by clicking the link.

Well they have "discussion" about this topic right now)

Well, maybe it's not the most "siry"(that's a word, shush :p) way, but at least I'm sure, than I'm not giving any culprit a chance at my dumb bundle GAs. Does it make me feel better that my money won't go on people closely associated with certain individuals, who decided to ruin someone's great event and then proceded to blame the event maker? Yusss.

Propably because I'm still half asleep at 12 a.m. (don't ask). :p
Well, quite a few of those members have voiced their "opinions" in that one event thread and for some reasons they tend to be in all of those groups (because logic, duh), so tracking them down isn't so hard. :)

I think I found one of the groups on Steam you are referring to. Now I'm left wondering how do I find out their SG profiles so I can blacklist all of them, LOL.

Oh derp, I should've figured it was that! Thanks for letting me know. :D

to be fair it's not only leaks there, but their own GAs too
just found the message with link to this thread: "some f*g found out about us and now crying on sg" (my translation)
well it's quite a thread... they talked about how to raise level on sg with some kind of fraud

They're always crying about being found out as cheaters. They're useless little shits. All of them on gabe.

dude, I'm a Russian too ...I don't think all Russians should be punished cause of bad seeds like them

Nah I was just being extreme in the hopes that they read this and get pissed off. haha. Going to edit now before people take it too seriously

Boney M has so many fun songs. :)
Here's another topical one.

Using sgtools really helps find the leakers. My 2 cents.
Comment has been collapsed.
As Budgie said, they leaked giveaway links, but then they really did show what a crap group they are when they organized a harassment campaign against Melly (no idea why people did not get banned over it, had I had the power to do so, I would have banned at least 4 of them who were really bad).
Comment has been collapsed.
Blacklist all the cheating leakers. They can be found out, they can be excluded. Especially when they're using scams to get higher levels etc. Their tears will be funny when they find out they're on so many blacklists that sg has become pointless for them.
Then they can go troll elsewhere.
I also hope the part of the Russian users that are good decide to take a stand against the part of the Russian users that are bastards.
Since the bad part are ruining the reputation for the country and for the good Russian users. Which sucks all around.

Edited this post because my wording was extremely poor and did not reflect what I was trying to say.

Whoa, ease up man damn. I hate when someone builds a representation that way. Do you understand what have you said when you wrote "bastard russians"? Looks like you insulted the whole nationality without suspecting it by yourself, but which still present when you think deeper on that sentense. However, don't do this, it's not actually the website where you should say thing like that no matter about which country, plus it's some kind of inappropriate behaviour to some other users.
I'm tend to think twice before talking on this subject anywhere, irl or on the internet. Which i recommend do to everyone.

Ease up? This is war...THIS IS SPARTA ;)
You're right I got annoyed while reading and my response reflects that. I also see my choice of words was poor.
I did not mean the entire country or entire nationality, but the part of the people that does bad things. Hence the 'bastard' part of the people instead of the good part of the people.
For example:
There's a part of the russian users that are being bastards. (those I hate)
And there is a part of the russian users that are being normal pleasant people. (those I like).
The first group I'd love to see blacklisted everywhere so they will inevitably get less and remove themselves from this community.
The second group I'd love to welcome to the site + hope they can in some way teach the first group to behave or leave.

How did he insult the whole nationality if he wrote before that about the good russians?

I just did 5 copies of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor giveaway. It ran just about 2 hours. After it ended. A person warned me about leakers leaked my giveaway on a Russian site on my Steam profile. The thing is, he also list leakers profile too. And many of those have quite high level. I wonder why they would leak the giveaway since it even lower their chance.
Still, I wonder how did he know who are the leakers.
The site is here: https://2ch.hk/gabe/res/343331.html
