I added a little something for backers.
Even though I'm pretty sure most of them will have this game, I'm doing a Divine Divinity giveaway for Original Sin backers only. This giveaway has some special rules:

  1. You must be a backer or have a strong decision to become one to participate.
  2. If you are willing to enter, please do say so in the thread below and the link will be provided to you privalety.
  3. The giveaway ends right after end of the Kickstarter campaign.
  4. If won by not a backer, it shall be rerolled.

Support this great game and have fun!

Kudos to ET3D for the idea and the rules of such giveways.

Alright, folks, I know that is not the most popular RPG series out there, but I'm sure there are some here, who adore it like I do.

Yep, Divinity games always were mostly ordinary good RPG games, but that it always was something that they had. That something that made feel me a breath of fresh air, that something that made Larian studios a developer that tried to make good games (and succeeded, generally). Was that a peculiar sense of humor, or was that a piece of souls of the developers - I don't know, and I don't really care.

That difference might get a little bit more noticeable with their new self-funded game in the series called Divinity: Original Sin. Just look at the Kickstarter video - it looks amazing.

Now, why back the game that is already pretty much coming out this year? Cause a) it will make it more deep and polished, and b) you can get it while it's cheap if you do not possess a good source of income.

TL;DR: back this up and spread the word, it's worth it. If you are a backer, there is a giveaway for you.
Give it a like, would you kindly.

Ended!

sry for hijacking your post :D

but there is good chance they hit 1MILLION, right now they are close to $740K (just today the got 70K!).
But that is on kickstarter alone, if u add to this 30K from paypal and a bit less than 10K from both RPG sites (watch and codex) they need just 200K which is doable in last two days!!

I liked Beyond Divinity, the later games seemed simplified mediocrities. I hope this one will be good.

After BD was only Divinity 2, and yeah, it might look as a move towards masses and what was popular, but still, there were some highlights that made it feel like a Divinity title. And it surely played pretty nice.

So it's "skipable" to go for this one?

You can say so, after all, Original Sin is set before Divine Divinity and Divinity 2 timeline.

Then instead of getting the anthology will go to the backery.

Wise choise, my friend. And, by the way, you could also add anthology as an addon for your pledge there 8)

Loved Divine Divinity the most out of the franchise. Also, I didn't realize Larian had a Sacramento branch. Now I have something to look for next time I drive my friend up for his CF treatments :P

Otherwise, short KS threshold, reasonable goal... If I can scrape together a few bucks I'm definitely supporting this.

Exactly my thoughts. And when I watched the video - I immediately scraped together a few bucks 8)

I don't think they actually have a Sacramento branch. They just need to base their campaign somewhere in the US in order to use Kickstarter (because of Amazon payments).

I just can't resist a turn based RPG. Let's hope this will turn out a great game.
For anyone who never played Divine Divinity, it plays like an isometric Elder Scroll.

Folks, now when Torment campaign is over with a huge success, I up this thread so that you could support this awesome game. Just take half an hour and read/watch through descriptions on the Kickstarter.

Now I also made a special giveaway for those who desided to back Original Sin. More info in the opening post.

Divine Divinity .. free open world to explore and do as u wish... one of my favorite games ever.

Divinity: Original Sin .. shows much promise, i really hope they keep it real and don't start with the DLC mess.

Larian actually listens very carefully to their gamers and such an independent and caring studio as them will never do something as DLCs. Every proposition on Original Sin made by backers is actually considered by them.

I backed this the moment I saw it, I was also a Torment backer. Good games are on the horizon!

No kidding! I had missed out on the Wasteland 2 kickstarter because I somehow didn't hear about it until it was too late, so when the Torment one rolled around I made sure to get the tier for both games. So excited for all these games to come out :D

I have the Divinity games on GOG so I don't need a duplicate on steam, but it's awesome that you're spreading the games around! Good work

Their stretch goals are pretty good. Not only because they'd be cool features but they're stuff that I can actually appreciate taking that much more money to add to the game.

I own all the Divinity games across Steam and GoG so this is pretty cool to see coming.
Also... L-L-L-Laaarian! (That little jingle amuses me for whatever reason..)

Yes, those stretch goals can make OS even better, I can easily see that even now. It's a shame their tempo is so slow that they haven't even made the original goal yet.

Crap, I'm kind of out of money, and I'll get my paycheck on the 20th, in the last few days... Then I'll donate 10 or 15$, that's as much as I can afford, sorry I can't do more. Any Divinity game totally deserves it, I'm gonna spread the word around maybe some of my friends got deeper pockets :)

Spreading the word is good enough. Larian could use all the attention they can get.

Turn based tactical combat is my favorite kind of combat, though it's a step away from what made Divinity...Divinity.
Thanks for sharing, I had no idea this existed until now!

Great to see my intent is not vain.
And actually, it was not hte combat system that made Divinity Divinity, I'm pretty much sure in that. Also, as Swen said, the turn-based combat was intended from start, though always cut by the publishers.
