Same, I've been seeing a huge surge of ppl being reported for such things and imo it seems a little too well timed as it is a bit before the sale starts so I'm guessing here ppl are trying to temporarily eliminate the competition. Users being more vigilant than a mother bear protecting her cubs from approaching strangers which isn't actually a bad thing.

Yeah, I admit I found a regifter. 5 wins over the last month, all regifted. That was a matter of luck, when I was following links from someone complaining on the forums.

Just for the knowledge, what's the standard punishment for not activating or regifting? It slightly bothers me that previous winners from my (admittedly few) giveaways were reported, temp banned, and are now back on the site - they gave away a lot and that kind of redeems them ofc, but anyway.

Well, there's a vast difference between breaking the site rules as written in the FAQ and breaking unwritten rules based (presumably) on the staff members' moral values. I just don't see how a violation of one merits a reminder not to violate the other.

yes because its just common sense that sharing stolen items is obviously something that steamgifts would default to wanting to be associated with and any suggestion otherwise is based on unfair enforcement of nonrules by a staff member trying to enforce their own personal values

We all know the steam summer sale is looming over us so I just want to point out how imperative it is to not do anything that will get you busted like regifting.
It'd suck horribly to see someone get suspended during any part of the summer sale as it is perhaps the highest points of giveaway floods as well as fresh, delicious, new users with kidneys.
If you know you're already in hot water or suspect you are then please cool it down and relax. Were it any other time of the year I may not care as much and just give you the link to the rules but just seems a waste to flame over anything when we can all just stick together and try not to piss each other off.
That being said, good luck and have fun.
It may be difficult at first but no one ever said it was going to be easy.
