With Deus Ex I used PayPal and I had to wait few days (or even week, I don't remember). If I remember correctly they create that delay to prevent people from canceling payment* to get game for free.
*yes, there actually were people that didn't care about charity and just wanted to get free game, not even giving a mere dollar from themselfs.

It's kinda like with Syberia GA some time ago. People rushed for tens of keys to make GAs and probably trade. It makes me belive that some people will kill for even worst games as long as they will be free. It's like some kind of primal instict OMG IT FREE!!!! GRAB GRAB GRAB!!!, I once saw people actually fighting for free cookies that was worth about 1 dollar at some shop opening.

It worked with Paypal and I got my key instantly, but I did something stupid. I donated $2 thinking I would get two copies. I didn't know it's actually one copy per donation. Wasted $1. :/

Dude, don't ever say that you wasted a dollar when it goes for good cause. Good to know that you got second key, but in that specific case, even if something would go wrong and I wouldn't receive the key I wouldn't even be mad.

It may be that for some reason they do not take the credit card or the game can not be sold to your region for some reason
Use paypal all you need is a email though you may have to pay some fees but still if you really want the game worth the extra fees if any
I know last time they had Deus some said they had issues getting and it turned out to be because they could not purchase it from them,so try paypal

As you can read in the official rules:
Donors will receive 1 email confirming their contribution immediately following their donation, and then will receive a separate email with instructions on how to redeem their free Steam key for Hitman Absolution. Emails should be delivered within 24-48 hours, but could be delayed up to 1 week after the end of the campaign (9/10/15).
Sometimes is delivered late, the last campaign they send us the keys almost 24 hours later.
And if you really need to know what happened, send an email to support.
