I've never seen points "waisted". :P
But yeah, to answer your question, isn't that because there's a slight delay before you get your points back?

Sure I can be mistaken - but I think in SG1 (and ain't that abbreviation rings a bell for fans? ;P) it was instantaneous.

And then there is me. I think I entered a private giveaway yesterday?
Oh wait, never mind, I was gifted the game and left it. :P

Even if you dont get them back they are free :P its not like all GA are getting deleted

yes, but when you lose about 100- 200 points (happend to me before) - and there are new GAs ending really, really soon - and you can't enter those - all because those points are lost... I'm not crying, but it's still sad. XD
P.S. And all in all - if it's the way it is - well, kaiidth. I just wanted to confirm that it's not just some weird bug on my end.

The same happened to me and it sucks. Lost a ton of points from what I can only assume is some guy who thought he could gift games from his library. Yet another reason to be wary of high point giveaways that look fishy. Combine it with new users putting up giveaways that are invalid and you have a bad recipe.
How this managed to slip through the cracks I do not understand.

Yeah, 1 fake FarCry 4 giveaway and 2 fake CoD:AW were deleted just before ending. Creator is probably laughing his ass off. Even kept commenting that they weren't fake. The bans for stuff like that should be longer.

That's why the policies and support on this site is a joke. People who 'call out' (have to roll my eyes at the way that this is interpreted here, like no where else on the internet) get long suspensions, and those who create bad giveaways often get away with no punishment, or at worst a slap on the wrist.

Spoke to a trader several days ago who got suspended for 'calling out' not a giveaway, but trying to warn the community about a scammer and he got 2 weeks for his trouble.
And I don't believe you btw. I've seen way too many people skate by with no reprimand whatsoever. And now with the new system I don't see how to look back at old giveaways that have closed or the giveaway history of a particular game (-cough- 007 Legends -cough-). Not that I would really enjoy spending my time doing so.

Big deal. I earn more points than I can spend anyway.

that's what she said! ;P
Honestly: I was thinking the same - until there was a dozen of giveaways for Saints Row 4 and SR 4 packs - and I was out of points faster than I could say "Gat!"

That might have mattered to me too, if I didn't already own SR 4 :-p.

In SG1 if you enter a giveaway and then it got deleted - you would get your points back. I thought it works same way on new site too - but apparently not. Is it a bug or a feature?
And yes - I can't support it with screens, but I can pretty much confirm it. I was at about 90 points before entering 5 GA for Bloodsports.TV and couple of other GA. After few minutes all 5 deleted - and my points are at 27 (with "refund" should be at least 70). Any way you look at - I didn't get any back. And I think that might have been the case for quite some time, it's just I never caught it like that - and otherwise it's not that obvious.
Anybody else saw points "waisted"?
Is it something that would be corrected at some point - or is it a new norm?
