So this is either a bug or completely normal except for how I can find any info about it.
I subscribed to the August monthly as a first-time single-month subscriber, and then instead of canceling, I paused it, because I read that after it automatically unpauses, I get back the perks - 10% off, humble trove. At first, this worked, which was nice, but then last month after it unpaused, instead of the orange symbol that shows that I'm subscribed, it stayed gray (with the lightning bolt in it, not the pause sign) and if I hover over it, it says I'll get perks if I subscribe and there's the "Get started" button too. The perks - at least the trove, I didn't purchase anything since then - are inactive too.
I thought it might be a bug since I couldn't find anything about it online, and maybe it'll fix itself next time I pause and it automatically unpauses, but it didn't.
Is there an explanation for this? Are perks active even if I don't purchase that monthly for 2 months after subscribing only? That would be logical, although unfortunate, but it's still kind of weird that I couldn't find any info about it anywhere.

If someone could explain why this happened, that would be greatly appreciated!

Same thing happened to me after I kept pausing my sub every month (since I already owned the revealed games). I asked support and they told me that I lost all the perks until I pay for the sub again. Which, looking at January's revealed games, won't be for a while.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the explanation! Yeah, I probably won't be tempted into another monthly for a while either.

Are you trying to get some kind of free ride on the perks? If so, I can understand that the perks get terminated eventually. It's a bit of an exploit to just pay one month and stay "paused" forever, only to regularly unlock the perks when it's convenient...

That's what I thought too when I learned about it, but it was worth a try. So yeah, I suspected it was not a permanent thing, just thought I'd ask to make sure.
