my computer was fine until a couple of days ago now it is on 95% plugged in not charging - i have tried the method with reinstalling the battery parts in device manager and no good

i have bought replacement battery but no idea if that will solve the problem

Any help is super most welcome - if anyone has any ideas that could help it be great and i'd be grateful

thank you

Just to cover the IT basics - have you tried:
1) Different outlet/circuit
2) Different charger
3) Turning it off and on again

Check:
1) Airplane mode (sometimes this prevents the charge from going up)
2) A different charger
3) Power settings: Do you have a battery threshold set to stop charging at a certain %? For Lenovos, this would be in Lenovo's Battery Bar/Power Manager>advanced

Also known as Flight Mode, you don't have to worry about that, Win7 doesn't have that feature, and if you are using said laptop then your internet connection is on, hence airplane/flight mode isn't active.

On my lenovo, you push Fn+F8 and it pops up a "radio" OSD, where i have options for airplane mode, bluetooth, and wifi.
Certain models of Lenovos won't charge if they think the charger is too weak, or if it is set in airplane mode. This is due to those laptops needing greater than a 90W charger to charge, but airplane mode limiting the intake to 90W so as to not fry the airplane's circuits.

ummm, is 95% too low? Did you take a look at the first comment's link?

It is due to the battery charge self-protection feature. This is working as designed, and is intended to extend the physical life of the battery by preventing short recharge scenarios.

it seems to be going down 1% every time i turn it on now at 94% and i have yet to check the link but the not charging bit is more worries me more than the percent (other than it keeps slowly going down)

macs have been doing it for a while now, they don't change unless you are lower than 80% (or unless you force it)

Have you opened it recently?we had a similar problem with a laptop it took us about 5 hours to finally find out there was a screw missing (the screw was acting as a connector between battery and the laptop GND (something like this))

since it's running win7 i'm gonna assume it's a pretty old computer. if that's the case then there's a good chance your battery is shot and just needs replaced.

Sometimes battery calibration can get out of whack. Although usually I'd expect you would need to flash the battery EC or 'reset' the battery EC for it to catch on. Maybe it just recalibrated automagically. Glad to hear it's fixed!
