Khalaq had over 2000 entries when he first won; his bad luck was legendary not just because of the high count, but also because large part of those entries was for giveaways with high chances of winning.

To add to the above, it also depends a lot on what you're entering. Invite-only/whitelist/group/puzzle/higher-level GAs all limit the number of entries, which increases your chances. Also, of course, some games are more popular than others.
If you're only entering public, level 0 GAs for AAA titles with 2000+ entries, you can expect that you might win once in 2000+ tries, if you're luck is average.

About 2000 for me. It's all simple statistics though. 2000 other entries means a 1 in 2000 chance to win Yes, it's 1 in 2001, but work with me here I have 93 wins now, and I have been entering for my wishlist only for quite some time.

A bit? It took me three months to win anything. Not sure how much entries, but it was after I made my first GA (I think) and was at level 1 (I think). It might as well take you 4000 more entries, or you might win something next hour.

Indeed, I've got up to a decent contributor level just by giving away bundle leftovers, which gets me access to giveaways with fewer entrants, and it still takes significant time and effort to spend my points judiciously. It works fine if you don't have more pressing things to do with your time...
Prioritise the giveaways with games that interest you with fewer entrants, rather than waste them on high-value games with thousands of entrants, though by all means also enter a few the big giveaways when you have plenty of points "just in case"!
If you can get down to just a few hundred entries per win, you're not doing badly.
EDIT: invite-only giveaways from forum postings may be a good way to better the odds, but perhaps not as good as private groups

Which goes to show that if you put more effort into getting into cliques than blindly clicking on entries, your chances improve quite a bit...

Your wins are mostly coming from private groups or invite-only giveaways, which is a good way to better your odds.
