Did I just get scammed?
You sacrificed(your money) for the greater good, OP! O7

Thanks for all your feedback everyone. I feel a lot better about the situation now, and have taken the steps with support to clear my negative trade feedback, and a user report. I appreciate all the comments! I wish I could keep this alive all night, but I gots to go to bed! lol
Peace,
Loco

Happened to me too. I rolled a winner, he said that he just noticed that he already have the game but I was 100% sure that he had it not so I re-rolled and new winner told me that the key is already activated.
Now I'm waiting for my ticket to get approved or something, I owe a key to the second winner and I don't have one which sucks for both me and a guy that was re-rolled.
I'm also a new user on SG and I absolutely love the community :)

Wait.... one of my friend is your winner, and I found out below from activity window.
What he said is,
"I won Outlast from Steamgifts, but the creator gave me Never Alone. I wanted to talk to the creator, but I'm not good at English, so I bought Humble Bundle Tier 1 and activated Outlast from it. I made a giveaway of Never Alone with spare key."
I believe he has no need to lie...
It seems you made mistakes with two gift links, and my friend activated the link first. So your second winner could not activate it.

yeah and based on this latest piece of evidence provided, i have changed my vote to No. We need more jury members to do the same though. We need more people to lobby for (possibly) wrongfully banned guy ! :o
Comment has been collapsed.
Well he got banned for misusing trade feedback so its not actually wrongful ban
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah i guess you are right :P but still feel a bit sorry for him. I mean it looks like he was innocent afterall, so i can see how could one lose his temper there :x
Comment has been collapsed.
It's a pity the second winner used not messaging system but trade feedback. It's suspension from ignorance, I guess.
But he/she was innocent. (shrug)
Comment has been collapsed.
Wow Turns out the guy is innocent?(maybe) but a massive douche as well
Comment has been collapsed.
Though he wasn't cussing at the negative rep, just being confused... weird situation. I wouldn't call him a douche at this point, there's still chance that it's just a mistake - OP sending both winner the same key (I also mixed up keys already two times) and winner-guy not knowing that he shouldn't leave a "message" on the trade feedback
Comment has been collapsed.
it really looks like it was a mistake but you cant really blame OP either because when Outlast game winner marked it as received (without saying anything about it) OP probably thought its all good :p
dam this is getting too complicated for my tiny brain. i give up (:
Comment has been collapsed.
Now that is what I call a coincidence...
He simply posted that? Like, "Hey, let me just update my status with this funny story of a someone giving me the wrong game...".
It could be true, but its extremely odd.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, it was not simple status. He made a GA of Never Alone(Invite Only) for friends with explaining the circumstance.
Comment has been collapsed.
This thread is 3 hours old. The giveaway ended 5 hours ago. He created the "Never Alone giveaway" (its probably the invite one), 2 hours ago.
I'm not trying to witch hunt or anything... I will withdraw my 100% conclusion of guilt, but not convinced of innocence either.

deleted 5 minutes ago, after I told him this mess.
Comment has been collapsed.
Why would he do it, if it wasn't true though? He doesn't seem to be connected to the other winner in any way.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wow, you should tell your friend he should have tried to contact the creator anyway, even using google translate, if he has nobody who could have helped. It wasn't nice of him to redeem the other win in the first place (unless this one was a key, not a link) and to make a giveaway with it, imo. All this mess could have been avoided :S
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, I told him already. But I cannot guarantee that he would listen my advice and make an appearance here or the GA. (facepalm)
Comment has been collapsed.
the person in question does not have a Never Alone giveaway running.
How can you tell? It's invite only... O.o
EDIT: oh, it seems it was deleted.
Comment has been collapsed.
It was the Outlast's winner, but he just deleted it: http://www.steamgifts.com/archive/deleted (the Outlast's winner is Hirano)
I see no reason for him to lie.
Comment has been collapsed.
Uhm, the first point is there, but the 2nd and 3rd are not very clear, Hirano won Outlast but got the key for Never Alone, so he bought HB T1 to get Outlast and marked as recieved (that's what im understanding), then he make a GA for Never Alone (theorycally the invite only ga that is running)
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, that's right, but he deleted the Invite Only GA, though I don't know why.
It becomes more complicated.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think he can't do that since he already owned that game?
cmiiw..
We better stop assuming things and, as EsE said, wait for CipherLoco to come and clarify whether the Outlast code has been used or not.. :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Wasn't it a gift link? If so, it should say if it was claimed or not.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah, I see..
So for Humble's gift link we can check whether it has been claimed or not by ourselves?
Sorry, I never bought from Humble's nor try the gift link yet.. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
If it has been used, it will redirect you to a page which says "Gift key already used!", if not, to a page where you input your mail to claim the key link. The creator can also check the gift link's adresses to figure out what he sent to the outlast's winner.
Comment has been collapsed.
He could have deleted it because in a way it could be considered regifting although you can't really regift a game you haven't officially won.
Comment has been collapsed.
I thought it won't be considered re-gifting if you have activated the won game and later decided to buy another copy and make a giveaway with that..
Comment has been collapsed.
It isn't. As long as you activated your win your win it's completly fine to give away different copies of the same game (for example because you liked it a lot and would like to share).
Comment has been collapsed.
I think it's not against the rules, but it is morally questionable... given the outcome (I mean in this specific case).
Comment has been collapsed.
I think your wording is confusing XD
I don't believe him.
The post in the screenshot is from Outlast's winner, so I guess that means you don't believe him.
First of all he pulled the same trick not even a week ago.
Reporting a key as duplicated was done by the Never Alone's winner. So that's a different he :P

this is a trick

Are you saying I'm a liar? Can you say the reason why?
The Language is Korean. And please know that not everyone who can read and understand English can write or speak well.

sarcasm, irony, joke, call it as you like (''but seriously'' - it could be a hint what i meant)
why so serious ? hope i didnt miss your joke there
About english. Agree, im an example of what you said. Im far from comfortable when communicating english when it comes to more complicated things.
And its really sad when there are trouble because of communication problems. If ''you'' can understand english ok, when thers a problem make a thread and ask for a help person who speaks both languages better.
i know, its probably hard to read and its a mess :)
cheers

As a tip for any future GAs you make, if it's a humble gift link you are sending and you've put it in the key field when creating the GA, then click on the link just before you send it to the winner so you can confirm it isn't used. Until you press send, the link is not visible to them. I always check my gift links just before I send them so if someone comes back saying it was used I will know they are trying to scam me.
If you want to play it really safe you could also create evidence each time, showing a gift link is not used just in case this sort of thing happens, but I feel it's not worth the hassle personally. Just checking the link is enough for me.

As more and more evidence surfaces things become even more unclear. Either several people here are lying or this was one huge clusterfuck of miscommunication.
I hope OP can clear things up a bit when he comes back online by checking if there was actually a mix-up with the Never Alone and the Outlast gift links.
Until then no Blacklists for anyone. Meeting adjourned.
Comment has been collapsed.
+1 - I'm glad I read through the whole topic, because so far the guy doesn't look like blacklist material, at least not until things are cleared up. I also messed up keys during trains, things can happen. And, to be honest, these are only 1$ tier games. Good games, and paid for it, but no major harm done
Comment has been collapsed.
On the downside you lost a key which you can possibly have revoked anyway. On the upside the person in question is now on a bunch of blacklists and you are on a bunch of whitelists for being a decent human being. Welcome to steamgifts.
Comment has been collapsed.
Hmmm, shouldn't your profile library at humblebundle show with which steam account all your purchases were claimed?
If there's any other username besides yours and said winner, wouldn't that be proof that he gave the link away to someone
else and pretended it's duped?
Comment has been collapsed.
Indie Gala shows what email claimed the gift link, but Humble does not.
Comment has been collapsed.
May I ask what do you mean when you say you checked the gift link before posting the GA? What exactly did you do?

I'm not good at English.I'm Using google translator
I don't know why should i be called as fraud. There was no malice. i just got the wrong serial key and just used it, because i didn't know it's the wrong key. so after that i bought game from humble bundle and posted remained key on the steamgift.I just wanted to handle things quietly.
Comment has been collapsed.
You misunderstood. This thread was about the Never Alone winner, not you. Since you used the gift link meant for him, he got an already used link and said so to the giveaway creator. The giveaway creator, however, had trouble believing him, since you said nothing about it and activated Outlast on your account despite not having received it (so he had no reason to think he sent you the wrong link), the winner has reported another already duplicated key this week and the link was unused when he sent it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Phaeon won Never Alone, and said it's activated.OP said it is legit, good, and thought that the winner gave it to a friend, and then asked for another key.
You did nothing wrong -but if you next time get a wrong key, please message the creator, so he knows about it, and won't think about Never Alone's winner that he lied.
Also, it seems that google translator is good if you (and me) use short, simple sentences. Just message people if there is a problem. They are patient with people who want to do good, google translate is not a problem.
Comment has been collapsed.
But it's worse. He received a gift link, not a Steam key. After redeeming to email it shows you what game the key is for.
Comment has been collapsed.
But why would he lie? People don't do things without a reason.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just remember there are cultural and behavioural differences. Some people just don't like to make a fuss about anything. Even when they're in the right or the law is on their side.
How do you think real-life scammers (i.e not internet-based scams) are so successful?
Or firms that don't pay minimum wages or pay when someone is on sick-leave? That how Germany's slave labout trade is so successful.
Comment has been collapsed.
why not? Yeah, i get it, you wouldnt have done it, but that doesnt mean you should assume how everyone else would do the same thing though.
also, the guy in question did actually win a game, so its not like he got a key that doesnt work. Yeah he was a different game, but he did win something, and you can get Outlast for $1 together with 2 other games so i can see how someone could sacrifice a ... dollar
Comment has been collapsed.
But with humble links, I thought it shows you what game the key is for? When it said the wrong game couldn't you have contacted the GA creator to alert him to the mistake?
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah but it wasnt this fun though. i mean we had a bad guy and everyone was like omg kill the bad guy but now as other evidence unfolds...
dam, this $%( is awesome >:<

Hello,
I'm basically brand new to SteamGifts, and I fear I have just been a victim of a scammer. I bought Humble's latest indie bundle, and gifted one of the games. I provided the gift link in the GA itself, and I know the link was good as I checked it before I posted the GA. Well, after the GA was over, the winner claimed it was already claimed.
Am I being to quick to assume that the winner gave the link to a friend and then came right back here to tell me it was no good? Regardless, I bought another bundle and provided him with another gift link and he "apparently" was able to claim it this time. Great, gift received, let's move on!
Should I have just said tough luck to the winner, or did I do the right thing and provide another gift link?
Thanks,
CipherLoco
