It's possible. Godus on steam don't have good reviews. There are 2 groups of people - first group does not like Godus and second group likes it for chilling gameplay amd original graphics (like me) but it's fact that steam version is poorly made port from mobile game. Connect it to high price -negative reviews guaranteed. I hope this new Godus will be better :)

They went out of their way to mention that they're finally putting the Curiosity winner in the game (but not in the role he was promised, and without giving him the money they promised him, and also they probably didn't even tell him), so yeah, it reeks of that.

It's not uncommon for game studios who have the manpower to pull it off to have several games in development at once. It makes sure that you never have anyone just sitting about doing nothing, as different people will work on different stages during a games development. That said, this looks like it's about as far along as Godus, which is not a good way of doing it.

Its more like they coopted the first game into the second name to get away from the negative reviews.
So far lots of claims, but little evidence that this time they will make the game they funded all those years ago.
