Ever since I got out of Level 1, I barely even had enough points to join giveaway for my wishlisted games and invite only raffles, I completely stopped even browsing the "All" section T__T
I wasn't expecting this to be so overwhelming lol, what's your tactic when it comes to joining Giveaways?

[edit]I was not bragging, thanks to the people who actually helped :)

my tactic?
join GA's for things I am interested in and watch as my points frequently cap out.

hides the growing thorn of bought bundles

Absolutely this, Im lvl0, but I only enter games I am remotely and particularly interested on. It makes it all the more satisfying to win and look forward to play said game(s).

Several of your giveaways seem, like they have been bundled or sold on very high discounts on 3rd party websites. Please don't be too surprised if your level drops in the future as their contribution value gets adjusted to reduced or zero.

It's not a call out as it is talked about games. Which were free.

Best is not joining them at all. If you can't win, you can't either lose and be dissapointed.

It's simple: You buy all the games you want, so Steamgifts has nothing left to offer to you.🤔😁

Haters gonna hate, skaters gonna skate. Funny how they don't backdate CV for 10 years ago so everyone can join the Sisyphus style fun. I try to stick to things I might actually enjoy but I can enjoy playing most things so eh. I've gotten a pretty large selection now so I may slow it down and watch the fire as it burns.

This is impressive. Every single giveaway of yours (except for Crumble and maybe UpWorld - Multiplayer?) is from a mass giveaway and you are level 4. Elysium Restaurant which was given away on key-hub like more than a month ago contributes a whopping 4x 17 of your real CV.

I'd like to say that you will be back to level 1 soon but with how slow the mods have been lately you can probably keep ahead of the backlog indefinitely by giving away keys from mass giveaways continuously.

Question is: how long could OP have enjoyed the meteoric rise without making the mistake of bragging about it publicly?

I don't know. How long does it usually take before game gets marked as No Value?

I have opened about five tickets for adding games to 0CV/reduced CV for 2 weeks.

Too long.

Which means, often/mostly, many months or a year in the last 1y+

I find this very wise. I'dd add that gaming should not feel like work, or it's not gaming anymore. Sg can be difficult, but as long as you are satisfied with your approach, it should bring good things.

This helps!
I see between 0 and 2 games most of the time, now I see more since the last Humble Choice actually has a game I want, else I would see 0 again. I only join for games I have wishlisted and am very picky!

I only join giveaways for games I definitely want to play. That's the sum total of my strategy. :)

Tactic?
Well I filter out games of lesser points (<5) as the page is crowded with too many not so riveting games🙃. And then I also filter out games with less than 1% chance. So am left with manageable and not so overwhelming GA page.
Also the fact that I hide a lot of games, keeps it light as well.
And then I enter for stuff I see myself playing in the near future(say 1, 1.5 years). If not, then Hide! Hide! Hide!
Ex: In this login session, I saw 7 games on my GA page, hid 6 of those, entered non. So I rarely have any struggles with points. If I do, I'll rethink about the ones I had previously entered.

That is my entire GA thought process, I probably should tune it more so that I enter even less than I currently do! But its a work in process.

Is there a way to filter out things in such a way? Some kind of tool?

Yep, this one. Might seem like overkill initially, but it makes SG a lot more nicer.

I do the same, more or less. I filter public GAs based on winning chances and have another filter that only displays group/whitelist GAs. I also have over 25K games hidden (combination of trash games, games that I own on other platforms or ones that I have little interest in).

I started using ESGST's hide giveaway function more recently to reduce clutter. There are many games that I'm vaguely interested in but don't see myself wanting to play soon or don't have a good enough impression of to decide, so instead of them lingering in my feed, I hide those GAs. Works very well for sequels of games that I haven't played yet to know if I'll like the series.

Yeah i don't have a 'tactic' my man, i'm new at this but i do consider myself just an average joe gamer and i enter giveaways for the games that i wanna play, that's about it. I ain't lookin for all the angles, just to roll the dice and win a nice prize.

I had the opposite problem. When I first joined, I entered a lot of expensive GAs for things that I had almost no chance of winning. I have won two GAs with 1000:1 or worse odds, but most of my wins are from GAs with much better odds. Now I only enter low chance GAs if they're low cost, or I really like the game.

If I don't have enough points to join all available giveaways I filter them by number of entries, for example:
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/search?q=&entry_max=50
This might give a better win chance, but you'll probably see a lot of giveaways ending in a week and they end up getting more entries right before ending.
Another thing is that public giveaways get a lot of entries so the winning chance goes down quickly, so joining some private giveaway group can noticeably improve your win rates, but even giveaways from public groups like https://steamcommunity.com/groups/dgikinw or https://steamcommunity.com/groups/lootboy_sg tend to get less entries than public giveaways.

I only join games I specifically wish to play, and I hide games I have zero interest in ever playing. This way I still get surprised by new titles I'm not aware of but I don't spread myself too thin.
