Well, coupons offer a discount, but still require you to actually pay money. i'm assuming that the larger part of the community have no trouble grabbing free games that they might not play, but once you're looking at actually shelling out for a game you might never play, people find it less interesting. at least that's how i interpret it.

Yes, of course. Just based on the activity in coupon offering discussions (so there are people who buy this and that using coupons offered by others), one may assume that a 80%-off voucher would also interest someone. But it was 3-days old, and it worked. Just for fun I tried using it a second time, and then it did not.
Ok, now thinking a bit more it may have something to do with GMG. While coupons work on Steam, and consequently with Steam wallet, GMG vouchers need actual money (GMG credit can not be used after applying a voucher).

They do not exist
While there is usually some activity when someone offers coupons, I just noticed that vouchers can stay untouched for several days. Is there something stinky about them? (Probably too late to ask, as I have used it already. So I really hope they can not get revoked _after using them or anything like that)
"Mood music" for whatever reason: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikZNWv31sGw
Solutions:
The puzzle is linked at the underscore of the "misformatted", non-italics _after.
The entire thing was about drawing more attention to http://www.steamgifts.com/forum/EMwUC/not-a-big-deal-but-have-2-80-off-vouchers where the vouchers were grabbed, and "converted" to giveaways. The giveaway ID-s are the 3 parts of the "code" posted there. Some 5-6 people found them, so this topic was created and the puzzle suggesting to search for a thread about vouchers, started by MrRadiolips.
Well, it lured exactly one more participant to the giveaways.
Q1: any of the giveaway ID-s is accepted. The word "magic" is also accepted as it is 5 characters after all
Q2-Q3: any of the giveaway ID-s is accepted, "magic" is not
The rest are about ninjas
Q4: Voucher ninjas - "they do not exist" as this post states at the very beginning
Q5: Mini Ninjas (game) - the closest friend of Hiro is "Futo"
Q6: American Ninja (movie) - his name is "Joe Armstrong"
Q7: Zool (game) - "Zool"
Q8: Mortal Kombat - "Sub-Zero"
Q9: The Last Ninja is an old game - "Armakuni". There was a hidden remark on this page for the "Mood music" saying it is related to Q9. Matt Gray is the composer of both Tusker and Last Ninja II.
