I won overture twice, and asked in the giveaway for a reroll seeing i allready won the game the day before.
but after a day he didn't respond so i tried adding him on steam.
But he wont give a response/accept my request, even though he made more steamgift giveaways.

Should i just wait for the creator to respond or can i somehow ask for a reroll myself?

Only the creator can request a reroll, afaik, and this creator does not like to. He will just tell you to give away the copy or make a GA for it, which can lead to you being suspended. I seem to remember previous threads like this but I am too lazy to search.

They should allow winners ask for rerolls too, in situations like this, when 50 copies are given away.

Any 2nd+ wins of the same game should be auto-cancelled TBH.

This has been discussed a thousand and no, it shouldn't.

Actually the optimal solution would for the script to instantly choose a different winner after doing a simple comparison check at the closing of the GA.

No. Why? Fake GAs, that's why.

Yeah it would suck if you won a fake ga and a real ga during the night and were stuck with the fake one while the real one got rerolled. Pretty fringe case scenario but it could happen :-P

The script would ignore won games explicitly marked as not received, problem solved.

? You know, that you can mark a game as not received only after 7 days have passed? The hell would be the point of such a "script", if it would have to take into consideration a week-long delay?

Of course I'm aware...but why would you be entering further GA's for the same game within the 7-day window after you've already won it (regardless of whether it's fake or not which you won't know until the 7-days are up)? I fail to see your point whatsoever.

This isn't the topic of this discussion. The problem here is a situation where you win 2+ copies of the same game in a short amount of time (like a few hours) when you're offline. I honestly don't get your point.

My point is that it shouldn't even be possible to win the same game twice (unless the first win is marked as not received). There is no downside to this method, and the upside is that people who enter multiple GA's for the same game will only be able to win it once so that no further problems occur for both the winners and creators.

No. Because one of the giveaways could always be a fake giveaway and then you wouldn't receive the game at all.

I had the same problem some week ago: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/ZlI2p/i-won-2-copies-of-the-same-game

As MysticAarrgg said only the creator of the giveaway can request a rerroll so if you posted in the giveaway asking for a rerroll and tryed to contact him in Steam you can only wait and mark as 'not received' after a week. Anyway don't use/give the second key in case the rerroll happens in the future.

you should leave the feedback in a neutral state, right now the sgtool shows you like you won the game twice (try checking your username).
since it was an error, you don't want to look guilty. just leave it unmarked till you get a reroll. ;)

I know it seems i marked both as received, you have to go to the creator giveaways, look for the correct giveaway, look for the winner list and you will see i marked the second one as not received... i only did what support told me.

I'm sure that support won't suspend you because you're following as they say :)

Mark it as not received and let the key rot for eternity.

A lot of similar topics like these popping up with these massive GA's. Try contacting support and don't mark the second GA as received.

just keep your win unmarked (don't mark as "received" nor "not-received") so there won't be a multiple win on your profile.
the only annoying thing is you will have a win notification there till the creator rerolls.

Why not mark it as not received? seeing others suggested that.

if you mark it as not received some ppl might think bad about you seeing you won twice and marked second as not received to avoid being detected by sgtools for multiple games winner, even if you did not have bad intentions and wanted to reroll, but you just can't.

this tool will show overture as won twice, and many people here blacklist for that.

It would count as lying; "not received" means the GA creator didn't provide you with a working Steam key, and in your case he did, even though you shouldn't redeem it.

I sent a support ticket and this is the response:

"Unfortunately, there's no way to force a reroll without the giveaway creator requesting one. Please post in the giveaway asking for a reroll. If a reroll does not occur within a week, you can mark the gift "Not Received" but do not use/give away/etc the key in case the reroll happens in the future."

Yup. have the same problem and i can't enter the GA and see the creator. I gotta wait a week before declining it.
I seem to get this message "You do not have permission to view this giveaway, since you're not a member of the required Steam groups.". Which is odd, i never enter GA on groups i am not in.

It seems you either left the group in the meantime or were kicked out. You probably didn't notice it was a group giveaway when you entered for it.

Edit: You can't enter giveaways for groups you're not in anyhow. What would be the point of private groups then?

If you don't know who the giveaway creator is, make a support ticket explaining the situation and link the giveaway. They can point you to the right person iirc since they have higher permissions.

Thank you for the responses. Been contacted by support. The giveaways, 1st had 1000 keys and 2nd had 400 keys... The giver wouldn't give a damn about about a reroll, as far as i've been told. I'll wait a week, mark as not received and open a ticket.
Cross my fingers i wouldn't get a strike.
