All it really did was have a look at who entered without commenting and give you a list

No, I just liked checking to see who didn't bother saying anything in the smaller ones, and sometimes I'll check to see if the winner said anyway.

Why does it matter to you? I personally laugh every time I see "Thanks for the chance".
If I win something I just thank the person then, I think it's more personal that way. :)

Same, its not like it does matter if you say thanks in the comments of the GA anyway. Atleast not if there are already +20 comments, I doubt the creator would read them all. I rather thank him when I won or on his topic about the GA or when the person personally links me to the GA.

/shrug I read every comment in every giveaway. I'm weird like that.
And my comments usually mirror the complexity for the givers comment. They say something short, I say something short. They ask me to describe my favorite meal, I'll describe it in vivid detail. They ask to cuddle, I demand they nibble my ear. You know, the normal comments.

I've said why it matters to me in the very post this is chained from. You might not care about it, but doesn't mean others don't.

Some people enter so many that it's a pain to enter thanks on everyone. But I always make sure to try to find a way to thank the person if I win.

No. I'm not going to require it, I sure don't. Smaller giveaways though, I prefer it, and I also like to see if the winner said anything.

If you are going to go and respond to a nearly year old comment, at least read the whole damn thing. Only two comments lower was this.

I also didn't name the addon, I simply used it. It had one button. Guess what it said.

Well, since you didn't use the time this topic was already around to find the answer, I'll give you a clue. Its the text in the title written in capital letters.

I need to know where you take your gif, it's for science.

i'm used to that website and i actually don't hate most brazilians, indeed i insta hate anyone from my own country (portugal) because they insta-say "HEY you have allot of csgo stickers and weapons there", we speak the same language as the brazilians and in my opinion this comes from portuguese people (portugal is a small country but i get more beggers from portugal then from brazil that is huge)
anyway i still don't know what to say about japan :D

I don't hate them but sometimes they are annoying mostly because when they find out we speak spanish they begin to laugh and then they all start fighting, on both sides and I kind of hate that

I thought leechers were those who didn't donate anything and just wanted free stuff. That would be the level 0 people, not those who don't comment.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, you got it all wrong. Only those who post 'THX BRAH' are really doing it right. All others are leechers.
Comment has been collapsed.
Agreed. I never bothered to comment when I entered giveaways, just a ''Thanks!'' feels pretty dull.

The bit in the title was just the only bit of text I remember from it. It didn't display anything else.

I prefer the real thanks when i deliver the game or DLC, and i prefer to thanks on steam chat or by email when i win a game... I used to thank on every giveaway and i found my self copy-pasting the same comment and i felt pretty bad so i just dont comment now...

I hope they'll port that 'filter thanks comments' script. Now that was actually useful.

Did some "fixes" on the fly not sure it's bug free though.
I also made those usernames clickable
Comment has been collapsed.
been using it and found a bug:
$('.comment__username', $data).each( should be $('.comments .comment__username', $data).each( , otherwise your username is added to commenters list and obviously excluded from leechers even if didn't comment. even if it was intended to be like this, i like to see if i already commented too.

I have something that blocks those. I just want to see if they comment (and check to see if they were lazy or not)

seriously Delta, even without this, your blacklist is huge already, can you manually put all of those name in your list ?
Comment has been collapsed.
perhaps a script that puts everybody on blacklist and then manualy remove those 2 guys that you dont want to blaclist :)

I prefer not to comment, the odds of winning are slim already. As stated earlier, saying thanks before possibly winning makes no sense. After winning something would be the optimal time to say thanks.

What exactly is the point of the script? To exclude and blacklist users who opt to not post useless and frivolous, insincere comments on a giveaway? That's rather abusive and deplorable for you to do, not to mention fails to understand the concept of "leeching."
You people are pathetic.

I've seen lots of giveaways with the potential for interesting dialogue. Unfortunately, there was no easy way to check for responses in giveaways, short of going back to each of those giveaways. I was really excited for how SG V2 does replies (includes responses in giveaways), but that feature from Beta isn't live yet.

I only say anything after I have won, in person if possible, and if not, I'll visit your Steam Profile and thank you there. Occasionally I may be inclined to also thank you on the giveaway, after it has ended already.
Also, everything Nokkenbuer said. Really, I should use him (?) as my stand-in. :P

DeltaBladeX, I respect you as a prominent Steamgifts member and a generous giveaway creator.
However with all due respect (don't get me wrong) but I think you're a bit overreacting here, wouldn't it be better to focus your precious time and energy on something more useful than policing "thanks" comments and creating huge blacklists? I'm starting to suspect that you might have a problem. A giveaway is not really a giveaway but a transaction if you expect something in return (whatever it might be).
Anyway I just need to let you know that I usually do not comment on giveaways (except private/group giveaways) and I do not require users to do it on my giveaways, however I too appreciate some kind/funny/interesting words. Please feel free to add me to your blacklist If you wish, and I am truly sorry if I offended you.

I totally agree.
I VERY rarely thank for the giveaways that already have a huge list of people saying thank you.
I do, on the other hand, make sure to say thank you if I see that there are very few thank you's and a lot of people.
I just feel bad seeing 2 thank you's and over 100 entries.
Thank you is best said in person when receiving a gift. I prefer to hear it in chat or via email (whichever way I'm delivering the gift), but I don't expect it. It's nice when it happens but not obligatory :)

I agree with you. I rarely thank for GA, but always thank when I win something.
Just say something when I entry one giveaway if there are something interesting in description, so, I can participate in discussion.
And I like to be polite and wish more wins and fun, for who receive a gift from me. ☺

It was this one btw:

and then probably made by this user here or uploaded by him, dunno

Um, what do you want people to say? Do you write a description/comment yourself? Do you ask questions?
I'm the kind of a person who doesn't like to bother people so I never comment on anything unless the GA creator explicitly asks something / tells it's alright to comment. I'm the same way IRL, I feel... uncomfortable striking a conversation out of the blue, so online I really try to skip the anxiety of trying to come up with something to say. :D
(I, however, do send a thank you comment if I win a GA. That's just good manners. Unless the GA creator asked for no thanks/no comments. Then read above.)

Anyone remember the 'FIND THOSE LEECHERS' user script? I can't even remember where it came from, but I already miss it after making one giveaway. :P
