I don't avoid saying thanks, most times I'm not in the mood
IF is a bundle game I will most probably not leave a thanks or even read the description but if is a non-bundle game or a private giveaway I will most probably ( :P ) say "tanks fir skirym"

Depends on the game, who is doing the GA, and the GA's description.

I almost always say thanks to those doing private giveaways or group giveaways, as well if the person doing the giveaway added some form of a description. Now if it's a public giveaway, no description at all or self promotion, I'll usually skip commenting all together.

I would rather just thank the person if I won while going through the process of getting the gift, in the case of a key win, I'll usually try to at least thank them over Steam or somewhere here on this site.

I think a lot of people don't even read them cause Bots just have a script. I say always say thanks on Private or invite only GA's or when the Giver has a nice description inviting comments.

Since everyone says thanks it becomes meaningless! But that is just my opinion!

Depends on where you are saying thank you. I prefer to say thanks after I win the giveaway and say it personally to the giveaway creator. Doesn't make sense to spam the giveaway comments section with thanks otherwise.

Plus, like Houdini42 mentioned, some people get annoyed when you say thanks, others get annoyed if you don't say thanks, its hard to please everyone out there...

Ofcourse i say it, directly to the giveawayer, IF i win the giveaway and on the giveaway if the description tells me to do it. Sometimes i say thanks right away upon entering on desired games.

I have to spend my points a couple times a day already. I get so many points that I spend so much time entering as it is, that I just have no interest in commenting "thanks" a few thousand times. If we got maybe 20 points a day instead of 400, it might be worth it.

Besides, even for my own giveaways I'd rather something thought-out than just another "thanks" spam. I don't block people for thanks, but I request intelligent comments or silence.

Depends on the creator, most people in here preffer silence instead of a empty thanks, if you dont have any interesting/fun thing to say... so if the person don't leave nothing in the giveaway description is a bet n close (most times).

I never say thanks unless I win it or I already know the giver, it seems a overused way to fill the comments section to me.

My only comments are mostly humorous idiot comments depending on the game that is being given, that's my way to express gratitude.

Other giveaways: I usually see how many commentaries it has and if it has few I leave my thanks

Mostly on high level giveaways and non bundled games.

I leave a comment of appreciation in every giveaway that I enter, and usually mention the creator by name, because regardless of whether or not I win, I'm thankful for their generosity. To me, it's just common decency. I don't use an auto-script, and I always read the descriptions, and will try to base my comment on that if I can (or sometimes, I'll comment about the game, itself).

To me, it doesn't feel right to not say thank you, but with the vocal backlash against leaving thanks, I'm a bit torn now. :-/

I try to leave a comment, but sometimes, when I open a few tabs to enter multiple giveaways at once, then have to go AFK I tend to forget.

I only leave a comment if I have something to say about the game or whatever, leaving just a "thanks" looks like a copy-paste, colder than a mother-in-law's hug.

Actually, i am not a bad person. I always want to leave a comment for giveaways. But i useally use my phone or any portable small devices to check giveaways . And as a pcguy, it is realy %&+? hard to use screen keyboard in these little devices with my big fingers for me.
