Controversial game that still hopes for people to forgive it and to play it and they seem to be starting to try and regain/gain peoples loyalties and favour with this, after this, a whole year of free DLC sort of like an appology in order to make the game as they originaly enviosioned as, and to make you feel better as it did ultimately fail and dissapoint us all. Has a half discount too if youre that eager. I personaly am gonna try it, always wanted to play it no matter what, see how things are for myself, i just wish i had a buddy to bring me along on the rocky road.

How about you? We know the saying, if its free, why not? All it costs is your time. Alot of people i see in eurogamer dont want to touch it, and yet a considerable different amount of people recommend it to others, its tough knowing who is the right minority. The free weekend started 3 hours ago if im not mistaken. I just cared enough to let you know.

Good opportunity or has it lost your favour?

Still not worth it, not yet, shall see if the free second year DLC is gonna change that.
A good chance to realy dip into the game now and see if its worth it, after all, there are people who hate it, yes, but people who enjoy it too and still recommending it.

I tried it last time they had a free weekend on Uplay and ended up buying it a month later and was fun for awhile if you are into PvE since the PvP feels like a joke.

Gameplay was fine, collectables were actually interesting for once(in a Uplay game) to be worth collecting. Loot nowadays is a plenty and enemies aint that bullet spongy(but elites can still take a full mag into the head).

And if you end up deciding to buy it - do a little research to see is it worth getting the Standart or Gold( I got gold but enjoyed only one of the DLCs).

Thats good to hear, apart from the PvP, which, is as bad as youre saying...?
Thats good stuff, and not that bullet spongey? Thats like the number one complaint i keep hearing.
Let me guess, that one DLC you speak of is the Survival one, ya? Nothing but good things i hear from that one, people recommend the game just for that one game mode because its that good apparently, if only it was in the game since the beginning though, game may have faired better overall.

Well I tried the PvP and its more of dancing than actually cover-based and then there are the meta builds(not fan of those so just avoiding PvP).
Well as said depends on your aim and gear(though you can gear up for end game fairly quickly nowadays) and you have 3 enemies: Normal(red) that die from a few bullets, Purple("Rare" maybe) that are a little bit tougher and Yellow(Elite) that are tanky and then you have different classes. Still most enemies have weak spots that you should aim at( example: Heavy flamethrower will die if you blow both of his fuel canisters on the side).

Actually tried Survival didnt like it, read a bit about it and seem its all about remembering the good spots. The one I enjoyed actually was Underground because of the different directives( start with less ammo and no ammo drops/ no map and only shows enemies if market or revealed/ enemies using special ammo/ ultimates share cooldown across the group / your hp reduces overtime).

I dont think the game would faired better if you had Survival from the get go. Tom Clancy in the name was misleading(instead of tactical 3rd person shooter you get RPGlike 3rd-person shooter. Story is barebones and the lack of voiced protagonist(seriously! I cant recall ever hearing even a grunt from my character) makes the game feel... meh(you might aswell be a clone!)

The primary platform may be Uplay but the game is still dying. I honestly doubt that Uplay has a stronger player base than Steam, especially when it comes to The Division. :)

Its dying, yes, but not quite there in the dead category, kinda far from that, certainly more alive than The Culling atleast. Sorry for the lack of option.

But Prey can wait, you own it forever while The Division is avaivable for only 3 days. Doesnt seem like a hard choice logicaly but i understand the anticipation for the Dead Space, slash, bioshock game.

I had the chance to grind for hours during the last free weekend. Simply put, the game is not worth playing. Especially if you have to pay 25 euros or more for it.

There aren't enough people playing it
The grindfest is spectacular
The visuals aren't impressive
It's pretty badly optimized
PvP is terrible
PvE tends to be very repetitive

For me, it was a bust. And I got all these from a weekend of playing. Don't even want to know what others go through when playing for more than a few days.

I liked the game, I don't need to wait someone to teamup for a mission, I can simply start the mission and people can join whenever they're available as I'm playing, it'd be dreadful to wait for matchmaking before the missions. It seems people realy despise the PvP, but I don't PvP anyways. I think I've bought it for R$ 60 (around $20, I guess), and was totally worth it. :D

I haven't played more than a few hours of this back in the open beta, how did this game (apparently) flop? It looks really fun! and was for the little amount i played of it.

I used to play this game a lot. Unfortunately, the devs announced basically nothing for Year 2, especially if you don't count features that should have been in the game since day one (Cough, loadouts). There will be no major story expansions or anything like that. I finally said fuck it and I'm hoping to pick up Destiny 2 when it comes out.

3 days is hardly worth the download time. I like the game. but it's a pain to play alone.
