No, just wait 7 days and mark as not received. He won't get a re-roll.

That is if he doesn't deliver, if he does, then accept it and move on.

Nope. There are no rules on the blacklisting system. You'll still get your game. If not, it is technically breaking the rules and it will affect the user's profile (one unsent gift).

The blacklist is more of a filter system for giveaways, with a social filtering component tacked on.
There's absolutely no rules to how a user can use their blacklist;
But being on a blacklist doesn't supersede any other rules, or retcon any circumstances, or otherwise have any effect that isn't automatically handled by the site.

tl;dr version It doesn't affect your giveaway win, since that's still active.

People often Blacklist the winners of their GAs so that others can win instead of the same person. However, if he doesn't give you the game after the 7 day grace period, mark the GA not received.

For any user/giveaway related issues, you should contact support.
Provide screenshots where/when suitable.

By the phrasing in the site guidelines, this would be calling out.

Maybe you didn't comment on the giveaway so the creator blacklisted you, a lot of people do that. Or maybe the creator said he doesn't want people to comment and you commented which made you get blacklisted. I can't access the giveaway because it's region restricted, so i don't know who made it or what they said in the description.

You can still get your game though, he can send the key via the website, or gift to your e-mail if it's a steam gift. So just give it some time and see what happens.

I blame no one for my plight, self entitlement? Replying to someone with shit attitude after getting shit attitude, self entitlement? Going by site rules, self entitlement? Going by logical reasoning, self entitlement? The only self entitlement I claim is my attitude when I'm shown attitude and when people type without logical reasoning and when what they write contradicts the exact thing they write. Speak to me in a kind tone and I reciprocate. Writing an sarcastic comment and trying to make it look balanced doesn't work. Once again I'm not targeting you but you can assume I am. YES Fucking Way

Yes, self-entitlement. You broke apeshit when you discovered that the creator doesn't want you entering anymore of his GAs for reasons, he thinks are justifing. And you know what? Everyone has the right to blacklist anyone for anything. Self-entitled, because you seem to think that noone should take from you away the oppurtunity of entering a GA for reasons, you don't agree with. Well, guess what, you're wrong.

Apparently, don't call me bro ~ don't leech is the new I want to brutally torture everyone you love and/or an invitation to be brutally harassed.

Moreover, I've yet to see a giveaway ReadingLies HASN'T put that disclaimer in [perhaps he skips it on region-restricted?] so it's not like they're playing favorites. They've been nothing but courteous in the interactions I've had with them.

Which is certainly more than we can say about some users.

The way you make your comment seem balanced is applauded which you know is not the case. Apparently telling someone how the whole mess could be averted in the first place warrants a curt reply. You see all the assumptions you have in your own reply? I'm sure Hitler has good interactions with his commanders whom he needs to, does that mean he shows the same way to everyone? You have yet to see a giveaway, YET TO is. Followed by helping him "perhaps he skips". Nice neutral tone of your comment. Which is certainly more than we can say about some users. "We" is like me using "people, which is apparently not what you mean too. But why would anyone with a" neutral comment" care? You want an unbiased and courteous reply, you do it to. People like you don't understand tone of writing which reveals your true motives. Me replying to creators 3 reasons comment in the exact same tone as the creator is assumed to be cancer and bashing and "torturous". Nice neutral assessment once again.

Did you see my first reply to the creators first comment in this thread? Or you simply can't read? You reply made me chuckle, apeshit? Telling creator that this thread would not even exist is apeshit? You saw his reply to my first reply with the 3 reasons? I was labeled a leech? You seem to not realised how contradictory your words are. You even got the whole time line of replies in the wrong order. You are the one who went apeshit my young padawan. Like I told the other guy, give me a reason on why you blacklist me and I would not pursue further, now read your sentence with the word apeshit again. Creator was indeed being a snoob with his reply to mine first, but you apparently can't read that too. For reasons I do not agree with? There wasn't even a reason until someone else told me creators reason, not the creator. There is a reason why contribution level exists. You are judging me in the same way you claim I am judging people, batch please. Your logical reasoning and comprehension abilities are cute. I was merely targeting only people like creator and you assume I am talking about all the generous people on SG, alot of whom I know and have great respect for. Have you even seen Alplaca and DeltaXBlade and their giveaways before

This isn't a charity site, nor a epeen comparison site. Mature way, have you seen yourself and your contradictions?

His ratio is not bad as it shows, its actually 2:1 according to sgtools ($90 given $170 win). Thats far froom leeching.

If everyone starts giving more than they win, there would be no reason for SteamGifts to exist. Me, for example, I don't even pay attention that much attention to my ratio (unless I'm in a luck streak and start to win too much), I've been 2:1, 1:2... my ratio floats every week. Last week I won 7 games and only created GAs after because there was a good sale for great games and I felt like giving something nice, I was not planning to make my ratio 1:1, but that eventually happens. If there is a good sale tomorrow, I will be positive again.

Nobody here needs to rush to keep their ratio positive. Unless you gave 1 to get lvl 1 and won 10+, 15+... that I would call a leech.

If every user here gave $1k+ and won $100 what would be the point? It would be just a fancy trading lottery system. The guy gave $90 of games, is lvl 3... at least he is trying.

I guess you're completely missing the purpose of SG.

Don't get me wrong, I admire you guys who give 1k+ and won less, but if every user here were like you in terms of ratio, you would never be making someone truly happy to win a game.

I don't see why that atitude.

Thats exactly what I mean. I'm in a facebook group where I drop some keys once in a while, and once I made a private SG giveaway for them, and a lot of people complaint because their accounts didn't even were valued $100 so they couldn't use SG, now I use other methods for them. There is a lot of kids, teens, that relies on their parent's CC to buy something and giveaway, or to even buy something for themselves. Or even broken students. That save every penny and farm cards for months to buy the game they want on Steam Sales.

This week something funny happened on that group. A lot people complaint because they had games removed from their Steam acc, turned out it was a kid that was getting CC numbers online to buy bundles and post the keys randomly for free. Of games that he didn't even had in his account. Even tho its fucked up and I warned the kid about the dangers of doing this, its interesting to see that even without money, he had the desire to give something to others.

You never really know.

Because you already won a game from them!
They're not saying you can't have the free game from them, they're saying the site has a ton of other users who can give you games, and Reading would like to make sure their giveaways reach a lot of people, instead of going to the same person over and over.

Reading also notes they'll be willing to make an exception of you've shown yourself to a generous giveaway-er, as a sign of gratitude.

Regardless of your personal opinion of Reading as a person, their approach seems fair and thought out.
It's not one I'd take, but it's one that can be respected.
Moreover, it's their giveaway system.
So long as they don't break the site rules they agreed to, they have the right to approach their giving stuff away for free as they please, because they're giving away stuff for free.

Reading wasn't doing anything wrong, regardless of how much the concept of what he was doing may have pushed personal buttons for some people.

Responding the way the OP did is a terrible display of entitlement, lack of respect, lack of gratitude for the won game, etc.

I'm all fine with you blacklisting me, if you give me a reason I won't even question it. Than again the you can certainly accord the unfair ratio as my fault, but do you remember this site being a giving site and not a site for people to compare epeens and blacklisting someone because that person took more than giving back. You may earn a pretty good salary and be able to afford truck load of games to giveaway, that doesn't mean you are the better person. It simply means you can afford more to grow your epeen. Being someone who doesn't have much and still gives is the better person. In case you were looking at my library, they are all games gifted to me from friends and family with the exception of some cheap games from cheap bundles.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

How was your example relevant? And how is your giving based on RNG?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The chances of you winning are using RNG by the site, saying unfair ratio is simply saying the site is unfair. There are reasons why you can set giveaways by Contributor level, the whole point of contributor level is to clear out leeches, ironic that I am labeled a leech if I fit the GA contrib level. About my example, being not so well off and giving little gas I am labeled a leech, when in fact I give what I can. I enter more games which I win because of the sites RNG, high win ratio, labeled unfair (what logic). If I am reasonably well off, I have no qualms giving truck tons of games to everyone and even one simply for people who can't afford games as I might be able to instead of being a snoob like the GA creator is being, and henceforth getting a "fair awesome ratio". I would like to know how example is not relevant,

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Your example doesn't seem relevant because it assumes too much about the circumstances and opinions of someone else.

Why can't you afford $1-3 for bundles? And again, have you asked anyone how you could give away more?

Permalink

I can afford $1-3 bundles, just that the games are usually low quality junk. I only giveaway games that I feel people will enjoy, not bundles that people would play for 5 minutes and stop just to jack up my contribution levels. I don't get your second question. I volunteer alot of my free time for good causes, I would rather buy food or clothing for needy folks doing worse than me rather than putting it towards digital products who will only help people who actually own a computer, which many do not have. I am sorry if I have different priorities in life. Giving away more irl is better than in the interwebs ain't it

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There are a lot of bundled games with high ratings. Rachel's bundle threads always include tables with each game's current Steam rating so you could look for those to give away. They're common enough that you could likely find one a week. If that's out of your comfort zone you could do one a month or something along those lines.

So you would not like to give more games on Steamgifts with your current budget? That's entirely fine, regardless of other charitable actions. It does mean that you'll run into this problem though since it's a fairly prevalent attitude and there are no guidelines for blacklisting which means any reason is fair.

If everyone here had 1:1 ratio this would be a fancy trading lottery system. For some people with not a great income gaming might not be their main priority so every $1 they don't spent with games can make difference. Its not like he is not giving something back you can see by the timing of his giveaways that hes trying.

If from now on he starts to give 1 game to each game he won, his ratio will be just like yours. He is far from leeching and his reasons to not be able to afford $1-$3 only matters to him.

You never know when he will get some extra money and drop a train here, so jumping into conclusions is not healthy. You might be judging a potential giveaway creator in the future. I'm not saying you should not judge a person with 1 year on the site, 1 giveaway sent and 20 won, but in this case, his ratio is quite acceptable, its the ratio of the majority of the website I guess.

Sorry I didn't mean to imply you said that, just came out.

And I didn't meant your ratio is bad. From my point of view, its good. You giveaway constantly and its clear that you're trying and you care. Thats all that matters.

All I tried to say is that you never know why someone can't afford something as I've been in that situation when younger. Theres multiple reasons.

I'm quotting what I said to other user in this thread: "I'm in a facebook group where I drop some keys once in a while, and once I made a private SG giveaway for them, and a lot of people complaint because their accounts didn't even were valued $100 so they couldn't use SG, now I use other methods for them. That save every penny and farm cards for months to buy the game they want on Steam Sales."

Not that that is the OP's case, but I think people shouldn't be explaining why they can't afford something, you know what I mean? People are free to BL for bad ratios, but sometimes I think people are too harsh on what a bad radio is.
