Not sure which version you will get but the German version has all blood and gore removed. You will not be able to blow off limbs.

i brought a lot of keys from gmg and till today all games where uncut. The Key says if uncut or not, not the country where you activate it.

I cant answer your questions with certainty but I will say GMG usually gives you keys based off your location/IP (from what I've seen in the past). I've seen people complain that they get an RU or some Asian key but claim to live in USA or other scenarios like that.

Well I THINK the Middle East gets EU keys too. If you're not from there then it seems more places get EU keys too, which wouldn't surprise me. From what I've read from users I've seen Australian keys, Russian, and I think Indonesian (dont remember exactly). This is just from reading posts from GMG users over the past few years so again I have no certainty on this.

Is there anyway to check actually on steam what kind of version we own of any game?
Comment has been collapsed.
In the top right corner of your client you can see your Steam username right next to your wallet amount. Click on it and choose "account details". All games are displayed then, showing off what version it is and when and where you got it from (Steam store purchase, gift, (Einzelhandel) - don't know translation, reseller maybe?, or free)

I made a step-by-step reference for you (and any others interested).
Hope it helps.

Ty.I won long time ago Titan quest gold DE edition so that means everything is in german.Last time i only changed titan quest to english tnx to the guides online, but i couldn't find a solution for its expansion.Rly its shame it just sits there and i cant play because i don't understand german.Wish they put on on the giveaways here what kind of version is the game itself.

Based on steamDB there is a special German retail key for the base version, but not for the GOTY version, so I'd say you're safe as long as you buy the GOTY version. But please keep in mind that I'm just guessing, I can only tell you for sure that the Fallout New Vegas Ultimate is available uncut on the steam store.

i was reading like "Provision 2 of Article 5 of the Basic Law enabled the creation of the Bundesprüfs... o.o" good thing that i never learned german :V
so the censorshit stands to avoid 12 year olds from getting pornography or violance

I read through the whole thing. I don't find their support bad, rather the opposite. They remained totally friendly all the way through, answered personally and explained their point of view to Carlest patiently and friendly. I tried to access region locked games on their site before and they are right in what they explain in their replies: these games I was unable to even display (for example Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition). It's as if they are nor even there. If it's their rule to strictly buy for yourself because of this then this is their rule and it's the users fault not to read before buying.
I once bought a copy of Rayman Origin there and realized after my purchase that I hadn't bought a Steamkey but a Capsule game. I adressed my issue to the support and explained them I bought without paying much attention, assuming Steamkeys for granted and they refunded immediately. I got a very friendly reply from the same guy that wrote Carlest, so I really can't complain. Compared to the generic answers you get from Steam support (if any at all) what I just read is gold.

Don't think Carlest wanted to really understand. There shouldn't be written an EU behind the name of the product because it's not ONLY available to people within that region. As they say, if the person had ordered from India he/she would have a working key. So I agree with Troieve, their support isn't bad.

I bought a key and I can play the non-cut English version just fine in Germany. Just avoid to buy it on the Steam store.

I just checked and it was a retail key for the GOTY edition, so I guess it doesn't matter where it comes from :) I'm sure that I activated it in Germany and that it is the uncensored version (same for NV as a gift copy from the US). The only censored version you can get is from Steam or some German store.

Here's the answer I got from GMG support (gee, they are fast!)
Hello ...
Thank you for your ticket.
As region restrictions for games are enforced by steam once you redeem the game, based on the region you
are located in, it is most likely that you will receive a German version of the game along with any region
restrictions imposed in your region.
Apologies for any inconveniences caused.
If you require any additional assistance please feel free to contact us again.
Kind regards,
Niral
Baaaad, this is a baaaad answer.

Damn, I feel sorry for you, shit like this destroys the whole experience of a game :(

Thanks. And puzzling all the informaation in this thread together I'm quite sure now that I will redeem a censored version. I'd be fine if it was the GOTY edition, but it isn't. And as you wrote in an earlier post: there is a special German retail key for the base version. Dammit.
Maybe I'll create a giveaway with it or just trade it away. After all it was just 2 €, so well. See if I find a friendly gifter from overseas ;) I consider myself lucky I didn't redeem it straight away after buying yesterday. Lucky me!
Merry Christmas to everbody and thanks for all your answers!

That's pretty inaccurate, cause if you get a ROW key, it should be registered as ROW, so it's uncut. If you receive a DE key, which is german, it should be registered as the cut. Steam only detects, if it's ROW, or not, and if it's ROW, then it registers as ROW. If GMG gives you a DE key, then it's their "fault".

This is the official method. Not Steam does the region locks, but the key itself holds it. I pre-ordered Borderlands The Pre-Sequel from Hungary (my home country), and the box says that this game is only activateable (and suspectedly playable) in Hungary, Poland and Bohemia(?). So if you'd try to activate it elsewhere, it wouldn't work, since the region lock is in the key itself.

I just realized after buying Fallout 3 during the 24h sale yesterday that the version for Germans is actually cut. So as I did not buy a gift, how will the key I got from GreenManGaming redeem? Will it give me a cut version? And if so, what exactly is cut off? Will it take away the fun from splicing heads into three parts???
I risked the gamble and it redeemed as Fallout 3 Retail, just in case anyone is interested.
Yay :)
