I own a grand total of 4 pairs of shoes, 1 for when it's hot outside, 1 for when it's getting cold & rainy, one for when the snow reaches my knees (though they don't go up to my knees...) and one fancy pair for when I need fancy shoes (which used to be my great grandfathers, a person who I've never met, but apparently had almost the exact same body size & proportions as me). As a lazy guy (who has spent most of his life with relatively low amounts of disposable income) I don't see the need for more ;)

edit actually, that's not quite true. I've also considered getting a pair of lab shoes. After all, spilling acid on any one of my regular pairs would be a bit awkward.

Luckily it has not happened yet. I've thus far only managed to ruin a single piece of clothing due to lab accidents (a pair of jeans that suddenly one day had a mysterious hole, but I did not notice when it happened, so it might be from somewhere else), so I think my shoes will be safe for a while longer, in particular as I'm not currently doing any lab work.

Yep. I sometimes compare people to my pet (who is older than me), but I guess these shoes would work for even more people (though they are still probably newer than my waffle iron, which I think is from the 50's)

If you don't like bruises and getting scraped knees, I recommend practicing your kickflips and ollies in the grass when you start!

Also, you don't have to skate to wear skate shoes! They're pretty damn comfy and you can wear them any time.

Whoa that's expensive. That's way past reasonable, that's exorbitant. You know that you could find something online much, much much cheaper than that and still have a good look and similar quality right? Those shoes won't last any longer than any other well-made pair out there, and you could get a lot more pairs for your money, if you really are a shoe lover like you say.

What gets me though is, they say they love shoes. Ok. But why say that and then only have one pair of shoes to show for it when you could have a lot more pairs for that price that would offer more variety on look and be just as good on quality?

I'm sorry, but that's just plain idiocy. I just bought new shoes today actually... these look exactly like my old trainers that I wore for about 12 months. I don't get to wear nice blue adidas shoes as much as I'd like to though D: If you pay over $1000 for shoes, you're a fucktard.

They refer to shoes on that site as female. "Her precise laser-cut patent leather upper and suede wedge recall the sumptuous floral patterns of a traditional kimono. "

Fucking chancers. Someone is laughing.

Those are designer shoes, which is not the same thing as your pair. At the end of the day, it is her money and she should be able to do what she likes. You may not agree with the purchase, but there is no need to insult her over it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I disagree. There is more than enough reason to insult someone for paying $1300 on one pair of fucking shoes. And not just "shoes", impractical shoes that are not functional. That can't even be worn all day. That is the fucking height of idiocy in my opinion.

I'm not a huge shoe fan, as my name suggests :p But I do own a few pairs. I have some leather shoes for weddings and such, a "normal" pair for when shoes are required for whatever reason, a pair of thong sandals for driving or light hiking, and a pair of climbing shoes. Usually I walk (or climb) barefoot so my shoes tend to last forever - those leather shoes are 15 years old now and still look fairly new.

Wow, those are beautiful, but that price! O.o I love shoes, but I don't wear those that are very cheap (don't like them and, usually, don't find them comfortable to wear) and can't afford many expensive ones so I usually have like only 10 per season.
