Do you sometimes feel an urge to purchase a bundle - even though you may have plenty games in your steam library, and you have only completed a few games, which means that most of the games in your library is not completed. In fact, you probably haven't even played a lot of the games yet - but you plan to ... sometime in the future, right?

Welcome to BSA - Bundle Shopaholics Anonymous.
My name is Arkanzor and I am a Bundle Shopaholic.
I'll hand out these sheets and you can write your answers if you like - and I'll tell you whether or not your a bundle shopaholic.
Actually, let me fill out the first one. That may make you less self-conscious about sharing your answers.

How many games do you have on steam? 450+
Are approximately 75% or more of these games from bundles (not counting SG wins and free games)? Yes.
How many of these games have you actually played? 25-30 top.
How many of these games have you actually completed? 20.

My test stats: ~93,3% of my steam library hasn't been touched yet, 95,5% of the library still needs to be completed.
My test results: OCBS - obsessive compulsive bundle shopper.

Whispers to another bundle shopaholic: thank God the test didn't include Origin and Uplay library.

Fill out the form below if you want to join BSA, or if you unsure whether or not you're a bundle shopaholic (THE ANSWER MAY SHOCK YOU!)

Are you a bundle shopaholic?

Yes.
No.

I am terrible about this. When I see bundles, I look at the games that I already own and see if any of my friends have those games wishlisted. 9/10 they are so I end up picking it up anyway, and then dropping off the extra in the orphan thread on here.

Like the killer bundlestars that was on today with 41 games for 4.99... difficult to turn that down

As long as the bundle is reasonable, i tend to pick them up

I LOOKED AT THAT BUNDLE TOO!
I was like .. I have wishlisted one of the games, so I might as well get a bundle that include 40 other games.

It all started with a humble bundle that my friend gave to me. He was like: here take this.. then you can play with us on LAN night.
I was the SEGA bundle. You could get company of heroes in the $1 tier.
I couldn't... I couldn't believe it. And I couldn't control it!
I had never heard about bundles before that day ... before March 14th, 2014... It's not even 2 years ago - and I have gone from 1 game to 450+ games on steam....

You may think buying bundles for others is harmless, but they RUIN LIVES!
I see my mate from time to time. He is happy, he has it under control. He only purchase bundles that he really really wants after careful consideration... but I wasn't that strong! I still am not that strong!
Don't you forget about that the next you gift someone a bundle!

It's alright - you don't have to say something right away. You may feel that you can trust the group when they have shared their stories about their addiction, and then you may want to share your story.

How many games do you have on steam? 14 registered, plus another ~8 games or so that I got unintentionally through bundles but will redeem at some point. Not counting bundle steam key smegma.
Not counting SG wins and free games - Are approximately 75% or more of these games from bundles? Yes, all but one
How many of these games have you actually played? All 14.
How many of these games have you actually completed? 10, some of them more than once.

My test stats: 0.0% of my steam library hasn't been touched yet (36.4% including unredeemed keys), 28.6% of the library still needs to be completed (54.5% including unredeemed keys).
My test results: RSNB - ridiculously self-controlled need-based bundle-shopper

It's quite simple, really:

  • I go to Humble Bundle
  • I check if one of the bundles available has games I actually, genuinely want to play and which are worth the money for the respective bundle tier
  • If not, I simply don't click 'buy'
  • If yes, I click 'buy' and redeem only those keys that I am interested in, donating the rest

As a result of this method I haven't bought a bundle since February because since then Humble has been intent on exclusively offering crap bundles.

I'd say I qualify..
How many games do you have on steam? 1500+
Are approximately 75% or more of these games from bundles (not counting SG wins and free games)? Yes.
How many of these games have you actually played? Probably around 150-180 or so
How many of these games have you actually completed? Depends on the definition of 'complete' .. 100% achievements? 10 games. Finished the story? more like 70.

How many games do you have on steam? 2500+
Not counting SG wins and free games - Are approximately 75% or more of these games from bundles? Yes
How many of these games have you actually played? Less than Half
How many of these games have you actually completed? Yearly I set a goal of 24 games completed (2 each months, this year 29 already).

I've been on Steam for like... 3 years. Probably only a score of 80 or so beaten. Bad ratio LOL.

Test stats: <50% of your steam library hasn't been touched yet, 96,8% of the library still needs to be completed.
At your current rate, you will have completed approximately 400 games in 10 years from now. Which means that you still have 2100+ games to go. - And lets be honest, you are definitely going to buy more bundles, so if you got 2500 games in 3 years, then you'll have ~10800 games in 10 years. Unless you are willing to admit that you have a problem, so we can start the healing process.

Test results: Out of control bundle shopaholic. I need to add a twelve-step program.

Hi, my name is zestybangz and I'm a bundle shopaholic.
I was just thinking to myself the other day how bundles have ruined my life, with their oh-so-marvelous low prices, tauntingly succulent cards-bearing games, and with enough "+1's" to that library no gamer could turn down. Ah... yes.

How many games do you have on steam? 490+
Not counting SG wins and free games - Are approximately 75% or more of these games from bundles? Yes, definitely.
How many of these games have you actually played? 60ish
How many of these games have you actually completed? Played a lot of at least half, completed probably 10ish.

The day I bought my first Humble Bundle (<3 to the Humble THQ Bundle), was the day my wallet shed its first tear of many. I'm pretty sure Humble Bundle owns my soul, and Bundle Stars has permanently expanded my library by an unhealthy amount.
I'm a proud bundle shopaholic, and no $1 tier (if not greater) bundle will ever be safe from my wallet's puny grip.

Thanks, arkanzor, for the coining of our shared illness, and my self-realization. (Is there hope for survival?)

There's no doubt I'm a Bundle Addict. I need help.

I see a bundle with one game I really want and I immediately tell myself "OK it's one game ... BUT LOOK AT ALL THE GAMES IT COMES WITH!" I'll buy it, play the one game, and never touch the others. "But I might never see it at that price again!" "OMG I only have 2 days to decide!" -- the excuses are real. Even worse, I found myself arranging my daily routine around when new bundles are released on sites that have a regular schedule, especially Humble Bundle ... so I can hit F5 to get that "golden price" (bundle addicts know what I mean).

And when my friends ask me about my bundle addiction, I find myself justifying it with things like "BUT IT'S 10 GAMES FOR THREE DOLLARS!" or "At least it's cheaper than crack."

Please help,

I do buy the bundled games if I like the game or at least some of it. then if I don't like the other games that comes with it I usually msgs my friends to take it. been in the part where I force one of my friend to take it since I have the DMC game before it comes in a bundle :3 in the end he actually like the game xD so I'll say maybe I am or not :3

Ho yes, I'm addicted to bundles fo' sure. I'm not good enough to join goddess rachel's bundle group tho.
There was a brief time when I added all games from bundles to my library even if I didn't plan on playing them, but I managed to stop doing that. More recently I've tried to pass on some bundles and trade for/win specific games I want on this site.
I've managed to do it like twice.

Not counting SG wins and free games - Are approximately 75% or more of these games from bundles? No, but in a sense yes. No they are not directly from bundles. Many are from bundled games that I traded for other bundled games.
How many of these games have you actually played? I have no idea. I'd say probably 300.
How many of these games have you actually completed? Maybe 10. That might be being generous, I'm not very good at finishing games and spent a LOT of time on MMOs.
