Incidentally, in which category does a post like this belong anyway?
Thank you very much for all events you're doing here :)

Special bump for that person who wanted to know where it was. You know who you are.

I understand the difficulty in categorizing a forum giveaway thread. However, the problem with having a giveaway section in the forums is that people will just use it like the main giveaway list, entering the giveaways and disregarding the content. I've always felt that forum giveaways are for the genuine forum users.

But who is a "genuine forum user"? One who religiously trolls... I mean, trawls, the off-topic category?
Besides, do not underestimate the power of requiring an extra click and reading as a barrier to finding giveaways, even if there was a category for them. :-)

By, uh, following the "Portal 1 + 2" link and then clicking the "enter giveaway" button? I'm not sure I understand your question.

Since I own both Portal games and the consolation game, should I be sending you death threats and hate mail?

Yes, definitely. How will things ever improve if people don't complain?

Well, if the poll had anything to say about it (which it does not) we'd have a separate Forum GIveaways category anyway...
But, failing that, since Off-Topic was even more popular than General Gaming, I'll put forum GAs in there from now on. Unless they're puzzles, but I'm too lazy to create puzzles.

I already own every games here, including the consolation prize.
Let the hate and death threats commence!!!
Seriously though, thank you very much for everything. :)

How fitting it should be that my first post on SGv2 (yes I'm late with jumping on the bandwagon, shut up) should be on the time-honored tradition of the perpetual gifting initiative. Seriously, I feel like I've been giving these games away since before they were made, but I'm pretty sure that can't be right... Also, under the new system, every time I do this, it will reward me less and less! I like that -- poetic justice. For certain values of "poetic" and "justice".
Bygones. Old site or new -- whenever Portal's on sale, I give it away, as well as its sequel. Why? Because they're good games, that's why. So if, somehow, you've managed to avoid Portal in your life, here's your chance to give it a shot.
Don't enter for the bundle if you already own Portal or Portal 2. It should go without saying, but I've seen people do weirder things. If you don't own any Portal, you can enter all giveaways, though you obviously can't win them all.
Hate mail and death threats have decreased by 13% since I started including a consolation prize with these things for people who already own both Portal games (apparently having good taste isn't enough consolation for these people, go figure) so please, take this copy of InFlux. It's not like I was using it.
