Don't quote me on that but IIRC yes, like with AC and uplay cases, you basically buy a cd-key on Steam that is being automatically redeemed on given uplay/R* account. You can't redeem it twice, so losing your account would lead to you being unable to play the game.
Personally I hope it's different, but I'm pretty sure it's like that. You can always try to create new account and launch your game to see if it's going to work.

So to save your time I'ma be as brief as I can.
Situation: Some time ago I bought a game called Grand Theft Auto: V from RockStar directly, so now I have it on RockStar, I know this is gonna sound silly in some way but I prefer when I have my games in one place (Steam). Now the thing is I would like to trade my GTA V RockStar to GTA V Steam (adding some kind of game as it wouldn't be a fair trade), now I bought L.A Noire on Steam and it is displayed on my RockStar as well, does this mean I would lose my L.A Noire Steam version if I were to trade the RockStar account (GTA V)?
